If the issue is real and does not violate the forum rules, Why is it off-limit to a public forum like this one?

The real value of a public forum lies in the ability of letting important issues to be exposed, discussed, raised awareness and those few people that have enough courage and passion will take actions. Just like the PIBG election last year, the forum raised enough awareness that the parent’s representatives (they were not handpicked by the school administration like all the previous years) won the election, without these elected parent AJKs , do you think std 1 & 2 will have the option of no tuition this year? the school would start a website to communicate with parents? Do you think the school administration will listen to the “demand” from a public forum? If this happened a year earlier do you think we would have prevented the spending of a 50K grand piano, that only used by some visiting musicians once in a blue moon?

We should not slander, name calling, or make baseless accusations, but self-censorship at this level? ..This is pathetic!!! and this is a clear evidence that we have been living under the repressive environment for too long !!!

I think Aerobax has a valid point, despite how he/she phrased it. Is that a fact that money has been moved from the PIBG account during the period when there was no authorized person to do that? This is a legitimate question for any PIBG members to ask --- and an IMPORTANT one.

Want to find out? Write to the PIBG (or the HM), ask for a confirmation. As simple as that!!!
There is no need to speculate.

Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored

Our Rules disallow any form of slander or false accusation.
What aerobax wrote is accusing the HM of criminal breach of trust. We cannot allow someone to tell the whole world that so-and-so had committed illegal monetary transactions. If there is no evidence, then it is slanderous and the Forum becomes an accessory to falsely accusing the alleged party of a serious offence

There is nothing wrong in discussing problems but be very very careful what you put in writing. Remember...what gets published remains permanently in the internet. Even if we remove the post from our server, google maintains a cache and it can be searched anytime in the future by anyone.

Just imagine if you are wrongly accused of a crime... it remains forever searchable and imagine your great-grand children will one day search your name and find an article that links your name to a crime... how?

I apologise if my posts have caused any hurt or misunderstandings.

My intention is merely to highlight to parents that are so happy and euphoric with the current format of extra tuition until they missed critical points such as no notices mentioning the quantum of fees or to whom they are payable to, probably we will not get any receipts too.

We all know what happened last year and I am just giving reminders to people not to try it again.

Maybe my choice of words and poor command of English vocabulary may lead to some serious misinterpretations, for that my apologies.

I will not raise this matter here anymore. I will resolve it as I see fit externally. Thank you for reading and my apologies once again. KWChang, please remove any posts as you see fit, it doesn't matter to me anymore. I give up on this forum.

The forum rules are clear, it's also clear that the "issue" is not off-limit. It's how's articulated.

aerobax (and to all the others that have all "given up" ),

Just understand and abide by the forum rules when you post. I am glad that you apologise so there is no need to make statements and vows to quit or give up the forum. I welcome all of you to stay and return.

I understand and appreciate your concerns. Yes, you are absolutely right that there is no notice on the fees with proper details. However, let me point out to you that the extra tuition programme has not started so give the school and HM the benefit of the doubt that they will in due time and course, provide the parents with appropriate notices. If they failed to do so after the extra tuition has started and demanded money verbally, then it is the right time to make the allusions. Until then, I think you have prematurely jumped the gun.

So be patient, wait and see. I am sure the HM is not that dumb to make the same mistake TWICE. If he does then we will know his true intentions and sincerity.

So, relax, take it easy and chill out in banana plantation for a while.

Education system is in mess especially in secondary school. Those who has children in form 3, please keep an eye for the development of the centralised exam format. Anyway, i just do what i can to assist my child in his studies. But i will wait patiently for the pibg AGM. We need spices in our dull lives. Looking forward for the amusing show, like last year, if there is any.

Well, SMK USJ 12 was known to be strict in discipline. But a lot of controversy lately on the teaching of Maths & Science in BM where a lot of parents were protesting.
SMK USJ 4 - not very familiar. What problems have you heard ?

(Ooops, this is Lick Hung's thread .. not SMK thread so maybe you want to start a new one.)

My daughter (Std 2) is now interested to join cheer-leading. How does it work? Since she is a beginner, will she join in others (like Std 1 kids) who are just starting this year? I heard it is on Thurs afternoon but have not received any notices from school. I hope my blur girl does not miss out as she is really not good at finding out information. School just started and she has already been punished at least 4 times - beat on hands I admit she is a day-dreamer but I hope that the teachers can be a bit lenient. Also, I wish they would give me more feedback to guide my child as best as I can (since I am a banana) - I was really disappointed that there wasn't a 'Report Card' day for parents to meet teachers after completing Std 1.

Extracted from the school website: http://www.lickhung.edu.my/2014/01/b...kolahan-rm100/

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Bantuan Khas Awal Persekolahan RM100

Parents may be wondering when will the money of Bantuan Khas Awal Persekolahan be distributed to the students.

According the Headmaster’s speech during the school assembly. The money will be distributed to students some time after the Chinese New Year.

The exact date cannot be disclosed here as it involves a huge sum of money, and we would like to avoid any incidents. The children will be informed soon when everything is ready.

    Fledgeling,

As far as I know, if you really want to see the class teacher to discuss matters pertaining to your children education progress, please send her a note via your child and make the necessary arrangements with the teacher. You can write in English, all LH teachers are fluent in English although they "pretend not to be" and prefer to speak in Mandarin . Don't forget to include your hp number for the teacher to contact you.
