Today I tried the T43 line, I was so disappointed ! I waited 30 mins at around 2 pm for the bus to arrive. On my way home, I had to wait another 30 - 40 mins for the bus to arrive at 7 pm.

If this is the type of service rapidkl provide, no wonder people are still avoiding public buses.

I thought they say it is every 10 minutes !

I also doubt whether the people in rapidkl actually read the emails at suggest@rapidkl.

Any way to direct the complain to a person who actually reads it ?

    1. From W. Puchong you take #508 to Tesco
    2. From Tesco you take T60 to KL Sentral & lastly
    3. From KL Sentral you take #110 to Kotaraya

The total is RM 4 flat rate for both ways. With the same ticket in each of the zone you can use it as many times as possible in 1 day.
OMG!!! Last time if i go to Kota Raya, only take 1 bus, 69.
Now need to take 3 buses??!!

Heartfelt thanks. After the ordeal (yes, it is that terrible), the complainant was close to tears when I picked her up at Summit. Thereafter, for the next few days, she has been taken ill, indirectly affected by the stress of her ordeal. Well, hopefully, you can share with us the outcome of the complaint to RapidKL later, if there is one forthcoming. Thx again.

The system is actually to keep local buses within the loop of that local zone - hence the need to change to another bus that cover a different loop. If a bus goes from start to finish, it would need too many buses to ply a long route. On paper, I believe the system is having the correct idea BUT if the buses keep the customers waiting at the bus-stop, then it will fail.

So can you confirm it is independent of zones, or must we stay on the same zone ?

T43 and T60 are on different zones.

Let me talk to rapidKL and get a confirmation. I believe that the stage/zone system doesnt apply anymore for RapidKL. The fares apply to the type of bus you take, not the area you travel in.

In theory, this could allow you to get from Subang Jaya to Ampang for RM1, by only taking Local Shuttles and going around, not through, KL (not that anyone would want to do that)

By the way, I just realized something else about the bus routes...you're right, it is quite a code system.

Trunk Bus routes are now divided into T2x, T4x, T6x, and T8x

2 is North and East of KL
4 is South and East of KL
6 is South and West of KL
8 is West and North of KL

Carpool to the hubs to save time and stress

RapidKL's system has two major weaknesses.

First is that the perception of increased travel time and reduced convenience from the switching of buses is going to drive away some passengers.

2nd is that the buses are (seemingly) too big to use the main service roads of most of the housing estates. Because of this, many people are not going to take the bus, they will get in their car and drive...

After their joy ride to test out the buses, PJ residents suggested that RapidKL operate the local shuttles using mini-buses or van shuttles so they can get deeper into the housing estates...Another option would be to have rapidKL operate a Dial-a-bus cum taxivan service from the housing estates to the Trunk Bus Hubs (e.g. USJ8 or Sunway Pyramid or Subang Parade).

But in the meantime, one way to save time in travel would be to encourage car pooling from the various housing estates to the major Trunk Bus hubs.

Lets say you are driving to work in the morning. Fill up your car with neighbours who are using the buses, and drop them off at the nearest Trunk Bus Hub (e.g. USJ8 or Sunway Pyramid or Subang Parade).

The Trunk Buses are quite reliable, they pass about every 10 minutes. The KL City Shuttles are also very frequent, 5 minutes or so.

Not having to wait for the local shuttle bus will reduce trip time, and encourage more people to take the bus, rather than get into their car. You would help reduce traffic, by taking as many as 3 drivers off the road.

    Cheers, m

The direct contacts for the COO and the Communications Director are posted to an earlier page in this thread. Call and email them to let them know of your concerns.

As for the wait, Im surprised. Everytime Ive travelled along the LDP, or waited at Kelana Jaya station, I have seen the T43 pass by regularly, approximately every 10-15 minutes.

Could it be the puasa month ? That some drivers are slacking and sleeping somewhere ? I asked the guy from T43 to kelana jaya lrt what is the reason for me waiting 30 minutes, he said he was 'filling up petrol' How coincidental !

On my way back, it exceeded 30 minutes again so I couldn't bother to ask them what is the reason again, or else they will give silly excuse again.

It is definitely NOT 10-15 minutes on my first trip. I was so fed up of waiting.

You can try these few days.

pray that the LRT gets constructed quick and that Komuter services improve.

there's a blog that i have been reading, its at klcommuter.blogspot.com

a lot of ideas on how to fix the poor service.

and there's this idea to improve bus services to KL using the NPE. instead of forcing the trunk buses to go through federal highway, why not use the NPE, as it is relatively freer? And if there is a problem of not having enough buses, why not Rapid KL charter school buses to start from inside neighbourhoods to run special services in the mornings?

From IOI Mall to PJ State:

Hop on T60 in direction of KL Sentral. Get off at Pearl Point.

Hop on T61 in direction of Petaling Utama. Get off outside Taman Medan.

Hop on 520 towards Kerinchi (Pantai Baharu). Get off at State.

Cost: RM3. Time: too much. Involves crossing of roads.

    Don't expect point-to-point service.
