TO PAY OR NOT TO PAY? IS IT A QUESTION OR AN OPTION?

All of you would have received the IWK sewage bill with a threatening letter of demand
and like me, wondering whether to pay or not to pay. Though the amount is not big, the
letter of demand that came with it does not give you peace of mind. But at least it is more
tolerable compared to the police summon (this one you better pay). If you want to know how
your sewage bill is computed and whether or not you should pay, the USJ Residents' Association
has invited IWK to meet the people of Subang Jaya/USJ for "An Afternoon Hi Tea with IWK".
The following is the information at this stage. The banners which will be put up at strategic
spots will have the final details. This prior notice is to get yourself free for this date.

Date : Sunday, 16th June 2002 (confirmed)
Time : 4.00 p.m.
Place: To be announced. Most probably at a school
Will update you once approval is given.

Makan: YES and it is FREE

Also present at this function will be a senior police officer, DSP Saiman bin Kassim of the
Shah Alam Police District who will be updating SJ/USJ folks on the security issue and some tips
on crime prevention. Our ADUN for Subang Jaya, Datuk Lee Hwa Beng has graciously accepted our invitation to be present as well. See you

This posting is to put on record our sincere thanks and appreciation to Hj. Jauhari bin Hj. Idris,
the Headmaster of the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan USJ 4 for allowing the USJ Residents' Association
the full use of the school premises to host this function. We are also very thankful that he also offered the PA system. Though it is a Sunday, we understand that some of his staff will be around to see to it that we, as guests of the school, will be well taken care of. We approached the school because our initial request to use the MPSJ premises was flatly turned down. Subsequently, they came back and offered us their conference room which we have to politely turn down their offer. It came rather too late as all the flyers and banners have been printed and distributed. Morever, where are we going to find the courage to tell Hj Jauhari that we don't need his assistance anymore after all his eagerness to offer us every assistance that we need. So all you folks, our forthcoming event will be at the SMK USJ 4 school.
Theme: "Payment to IWK - whose responsibility is this?"
Date : Sunday, 16th June 2002
Time : 4.00 p.m. onwards
Place: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan USJ 4, Jalan USJ 4/3 (next to SK Sri Selangor)

Makan: YES and it is FREE. ALL ARE MOST WELCOMED

Also present at this function will be a senior police officer, DSP Saiman bin Kassim of the
Shah Alam Police District who will be updating SJ/USJ folks on the security issue and some tips
on crime prevention. Our ADUN for Subang Jaya, Datuk Lee Hwa Beng will be officiating this event.
We will also be conducting a membership drive. Currently, our membership is less than 200 members.
To be an effective resident association and to be reckoned with, we need to be 1000 members strong.
This is the challenge posed to us by YB Tan Sri Nijhar when he opened our Biennial General Meeting early last year.

This is another community service by USJ Residents Association
