Vietnam Kitchen in One Utama

Went to vietnam kitchen last night in one utama. Wow! the place is so nice and quiet. Services are great too. Orderer Beef Brisket with Tomato Rice and the shrimp vietnamese popiah, not so good , so tasteless without sauce. Beef Noodle recommended by chef is great.

After finishing , more patrons are waiting to get a seating outside like a swamp. We felt disturbed by the waiters, captains keep pushing us to the edge by clearing the remaining food from the table. One waiter was even standing next to us to force us leave the table. Very frustrated because we can't have a little chat at all.

There is one in Taipan too. Next to Nam Heong Chicken rice.

The food not bad. Try the set - vietnamese popiah.

The one at USJ 9 (beside Nam Heong) is average only for me and my friends. May be we don't really know how to appreciate Vietnamese food.

Re: Vietnam Kitchen in One Utama

I dont deny their food is good, but lately my wife and I a bad experience.. our food was served unduly late..nearly 40mins ...when inquired why the delay, the Captain said that the waiter was new and forgot to convey our order to the kitchen.
It wasnt one of my forgiving days so i insisted paying only for my drinks and got my food cancelled.

Anyway the Captain was apologetic..I may one day visit their outlet again.

Re: Vietnam Kitchen in One Utama

Indeed the Vietnamese restaurant's service (in taipan) is going down the drain. When I was there last week for their dim sum with my mom visiting from JB. My stomach would have completely digested the food before the next one came

There is also a vietnamese restaurant in Bangsar Village and one at Midvalley (next to SF Steakhouse) which are edible (boleh tahan)

I remember the best vietnamese food I tasted, is in Sogo, many years ago when it was first open and the ones I tasted in US, cooked by real vietnamese

But then, we are not in Vietnam, so have to make do lar......

Re: Vietnam Kitchen in One Utama

ordered the beef noodles and frankly the soup was too thin and flavourless, some more waited 45 mins for the food to be served, this on a tuesday night
but the ciku slurpee was very nice!

Thumbs down Re: Vietnam Kitchen in One Utama

Was so tempted after reading all the comments above.

Went to BU yesterday, and took the opportunity to try out the Vietnam Kitchen there.

Ordered the Beef Noodle ..... not so nice. Full of ajinomoto, the soup was not hot enough (warm ), need to add a lot of pepper.

A real let down

The one at Petaling Street / diagonally opposite Kota Raya is so much better & cheaper too !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Vietnam Kitchen in One Utama

hmm! straight away i went there and had dinner just now in medan selera. i try the black pepper chicken and it's soo hot . too much black pepper but the overall was good except the rice a bit too dry.

had stingray ikan bakar there too. the fish was fried pretty good but the thick szechuan sauce with chillies spoil it. Too much cili. i prefer penang ikan bakar using indian curry powder.

the nyonya kueh looks good to me.
