Out of curiosity... why until 12 January only... can't it be kept going for a while longer....

Patrick is out of the country - he will be available locally from the 12th - hence that date. Patrick obviously is concerned that Tn Foo's family should get the donations as soon as possible. If it is prolonged, when will we hand it over? Let us not delay it too long. It does not take long for donations to be deposited to the account. Time does not increase donations

HOW many forummers does www.usj.com.my have? really??

As Sentinel has highlighted ~ the forummers have banded together and raised more in the past... for servers, for tsunami victims and even for campaign funds for a successfully elected MP... [no need nama mentioned!] yet IMHO, the 12th is tomorrow and I feel we could have had collected more for a man who was dedicated and had served our community [all the way from Putra Heights to USJ8 and beyond..]

Patrick, would you consider a week more... mebbe we can get the ball rolling by emailling our kakis and friends in Subang, USJ and Putra Heights - to chip in...

I can keep it open till Wednesday 14 January at latest. That would allow any cheques to clear by Friday when I will have to update the account, and prepare a cheque for a possible presentation this Sunday, in conjunction with the Balik Kampong Campaign Launch on Sunday.

Please note too that when Robert edited this list, he had included in the donation list below by parties like ADUN's office, which were given directly to Tuan Foo's widow. Therefore the total in my account WILL NOT come to this total. Whatever, I will print the account here for complete transparency.

YB Hannah informed me that she would like to group with the residents for this donation.
The cheque from the ADUN's office was banked into your Account by me.
So I can safely say that the amount should be correct.

On another note, it has been pointed out to me that many residents have already donated when we attended the wake.

REMINDER. TODAY IS LAST DAY FOR REMITTING ANY DONATION. We have to close and tabulate the total, and passing over the collection to the widow of Tuan Foo this Sunday at the Balik Kampong Rumah Selamat Launch in Sunway Pyramid at 10.45am. Please come and lend support besides paying tribute to Tuan Foo.

I have closed the account and the final page scanned herewith. The total donations received came to RM9700.00 as against the pledges which came to RM9850. This means there is a difference of 150.00 which could be due to duplication of entry in the pledges or some donations have been wrongly remitted to a wrong account. Please check you remittance against the account scanned and check with your bank if necessary.

In any case, I had withdrawn 9701.05 which includes the teenie weenie interest from my account so that I leave a balance of the minimum of RM10 to keep my account active.

Robert has agreed that between us, we will top up this donation to round it up to the sum of RM 10,000.00 which will be presented to Tuan Foo's widow this Sunday at Sunway Pyramid.

ADDENDUM

Last minute, we received a direct contribution from Mr H C Lam of USJ for the sum of RM300.00. This took the total up to RM10,300, which was finally presented to Mdm Ong Suit Wan (Alice), widow of our beloved Tuan Foo.
