Road block at Damansara (Near Eastin Hotel)

I just came back from Damansara and saw road block near eastin hotel towards KL. Causing a massive jam. and Federal highway is also terribly jam towards KL . The jam is quite similar to the previous BERSIH gathering. I'm quite lucky as I decided to go home earlier. Wonder what happened.

I heard the roadblocks have been set up to block those attending the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) rally scheduled to take place on Sunday at the British High Commission.

Not only there lah.

I was heading from Sunway to OUG via the NPE at around 1.45pm & there was also a roadblock(in the middle of the road) after the traffic-lights (after the turning to Jln Templer), heading towards Old Klang Rd.

Traffic was crazy today.

Was on the LDP at 9:30 am (non-peak) : bottle necks in a few places.

Coming back on the LDP before noon: LDP, Federal Highway - jammed.

Colleagues and friends also complaining the whole day. weather was clear and dry.

What happened ah?

This is the cause of the screwed up traffic yesterday and for the next 3 days.

Klang Valley chokes up
By ANDREW SAGAYAM

KUALA LUMPUR: Round-the-clock roadblocks have been set up in the Klang Valley as part of crime-prevention activities in the lead up to the illegal assembly called by the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) in the city this Sunday.

The roadblock operations, which started yesterday, were to screen motorists entering the city centre and to identify troublemakers ahead of the planned mass gathering of Indians outside the British High Commission in Jalan Ampang.

Read the detail here.

So who or what is causing the traffic jams.

THE POLICE.

No one else. What the hell does it serve, being 3 days ahead? That's why our productivity is so high ... because we get to sit in jams created by the police for hours. I think they're trying to make us as "productive" as the government sector.

Oil companies could be laughing to the bank.. more traffic jam, more wasteful petrol consumption. Not to mention gahmen to pay more petrol subsidy!..or is it a small price to pay for "security measures"?.. Not a farnie matter when pondering over this!.

Just remember..a small tiny incident (like all the passing KPC's viewing the aftermath of any accident) can cause a HUGE traffic jam at any Klang Valley trunk road.

This is a strategy by our gomen/police. Frustrate the raayat and the mass majority caught in the jams will condemed the situation and hope that they will fall in favour of anti-demostrasi. However it could backfire. Production time are lost, people begin to find out and learn more of why they demostrate, people will sympathize and more people will support their cause.

It happen in India, It happen in Thailand and it also happen in Myammar . the gomen must be accounted for, these are the silent dissidents. The gomen cannot take things for granted.

Then these roadblocks will be the mother of all jams. U usually lose 1, maybe 2 lanes to accidents. But imagine this, all roads into KL are being choked into a single lane.

Took me 2 hours from subang to d'sara jaya, via NKVE this morning.
