LCC Airport and Taxi

Do you know that all Air Asia Flights operates from Low Cost Carrier Airport. It is stuated on the same way to MAS Cargo or F1circuit and it is 16 km from the junction as you turn in from the North South Highway. The taxi are reasonable, e.g. From Lcc to SS15 Subang Jaya is 27.80. but beware of private taxi touts, they charge 20% more.

The departure time is on the dot but the customs bay insist that you declare and they will scrutinize you luggage. I was firm and walk thru the green lane.

The asian kitchen food is biasa ,cold and monopoly attitude service. The Macdonnal is better. Duty Free shops sells limited items, so buy from port of depature to k.l.

The passport electronic bay seldom works. One thing good, you have a chance to walk the runway to aircraft and you can do a final inspection of the aircraft you are boarding.

When landing and if you are on the window seat, you will have a feeling that the aircraft missed the KLIA main runway, but it is o.k. the LCC runway is another section of the KLIA runway. Just for info only.

I've just called the KLIA Limo service there. For family package to travel to LCC from USJ it cost about RM92.70. So now my question is, would it be cheaper if we take 2 KLIA Limo to go there? Since you mention is only about $20 ++ to LCC from SS15.

Their family package can fit in about 8 person in it. But I have only 6 person going there. Please advise.

Hopefully, cos it seems that there are a lot of private taxi touts hangin' around that area there. By the time we find out then might be too late.

Anyway, thanks for the info here guys.

Hahaha, just came back from HK/Macau, tout charged RM98 for the trip to SS12, in a perdana...

I didnt want to do it, knew that the taxi coupon would be much cheaper (less than RM50) and more affordable, even if driving in a regular taxi...

But why speak up...2 police officers there did not say anything or stop anything, even when the tout walked into the terminal to speak to us in the taxi coupon line...my friends wanted to use the tout, I said go ahead....

Sigh...some friends

Cheers, m

call the normal taxi...no meter, flat fare of RM50 or so, depending on who you deal with...can also call airport limo service, it is slightly cheaper.

Cheers, m

i thought airport limos are only allowed to send passengers from airport to their respective destinations, and not to pick up from where ever they are to the airport?

Both ways.

With those towns taxis using almost all their boot space for the LPG tank, it is better to use the budget limo MPV (Daewoo- you must ask for this, otherwise they will send one of the Subang Airport rejects or the Wira) - plenty of luggage space, more comfortable if there is more than 1 pax and the icing -slightly cheaper!

Check out the site if you need to book one. Only downside is that you must make the booking at least 1 day in advance.

Hi evelynlim,

The normal taxi charges Rm55-00 and it takes 45 minutes to LCCT. Some taxis may not be familiar with the terminal but you can guide him to turn to MAS Cargo or F1 junction on the left after the toll. The fare for airport taxi counter back to your place is Rm39-00 proton saga. All I remember is that when approaching the last roundabout turn 3;o clock. Bon voyage.

If you use the usual airport taxi to go to the LCC, they will charge another $10 more. For example, if the usual fare from SS14 to KLIA is $49.70. They will charge $59.70. Their reason? LCC is further away and they have to get back to KLIA empty.

If I understand correctly, the LCC has not appointed any airport taxis so the town cabs use the meter without surcharge when they go back to town. At least they do not go back empty. However when you want to go to the LCC, they normally charge more as they do not use the meter when going.

I really do not like the taxi counters at KLIA as they often refuse to sell the budget taxi coupons during peak hours, forcing you to buy premium coupons. This is inspite the fact that there are budget taxis available. So much for the monopoly advantage. And this is the only airport I know where they refuse to take 4 passengers in a taxi, citing safety reasons. I wonder what Proton has to say about that? Can Proton cars take 4 persons safely?

Are those taxi touts any faster & safer than using a taxi coupons? How long do we need to wait for a taxi if we use coupons? Police officers definitely will not be involve in such situation like this cos this is only roughting for business among those taxi fellas only.

For me, personally, if am not in a hurry to go home ... then I would get a cheaper rate taxi fare to go home. As long as I reach home safely.

Touts are conmen so do not try using them. A friend, against my advice, took a cab from a tout once. Well, that driver took 2 hours to find a 5-star hotel!! And the meter keeping running of course. Moreover they do not have insurance.
