5 + 1 reason
yesterday Star has it that he said..." Malays are better than the arab..." or something to that effect.
The mb is a real racist! My college roomie happened to be an arab...we got on like a house on fire. We shared a flat in Shepard's Bush and had a whale of a time...also together with my malay and indon friends of malay stock!...they are all great citizen of the world! so where got one race better than another one? tupai, brown on the outside, red on the inside. But the racist calls me yellow. |

sheperd's bush? that's not too far where i used to stay, st. john's wood.
but yeah, i know tonnes of arabs and middle easterners who will put our countrymen to shame. it is all a matter of the person, not the race. you can't say an arab or an indonesian or a malaysian or a whoever is better. why even put ppl on a scale? khir toyo is uneducated, or at least he certainly goes around acting like it. it's obvious he busts prostitutes, small fry, to get an ego kick and look as though his place in power is not wasted. but the ppl know better. ///Ej |

Tuesday, April 29, 2003 Scholarship freeze for robed scholars STATE government scholars in the Middle East who wear the jubah (robe) instead of the Malay attire during classes and official functions may have their scholarships frozen. Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo said the state government had received information that a few Pusat Zakat Selangor scholars in Jordan wore the robes even while playing football. “Even the Arabs wear pants when they play football but our students were seen wearing robes when playing football and this is really insulting,” Dr Khir said in reply to Datuk Mufti Shuib (BN – Ampang). Dr Khir said guidelines on scholars' attire were clearly stipulated in the agreement signed by the two parties. “I do not understand what is wrong with our students. Their actions seem to ridicule the Malay race and we cannot tolerate such behaviour,” he said. “I do not see why they have to be ashamed of their ethnic background. I think the Malays are a better race than the Arabs,” he said. SOURCE: http://202.186.86.35/news/story.asp...newspage=Search |

When I was a student in Melbourne, I saw immigrants children from Greece and Italy behaved more Aussies than the Aussie kids.
Our students in the Arab world behave more Arabs than the Arabs is therefore understood. Wear the 'jubah' playing football, you must be kidding! Once I was waiting for my flight from LA to KL., I saw many Malaysian students. 3 Chinese boys had complete sets of blond hairs. One Malay boy, I believed was from malaka, dressed up like a street dancer, with a baseball cap backward, oversized pants, oversized American football T-shirt and a pair of huge spot shoes. |

what is so wrong with embracing one's culture?
i always think it's a beautiful thing if you know your roots, but make it a point to learn others'. i've heard so many malaysians complain that westerners come to malaysia and don't show "respect", "adopt our culture", "because we are superior", etc. etc. etc. well then, if we go on taking khir toyo's advice, then we shouldn't complain next time our western friends come to our houses and don't want to take off their shoes - in the west it is extremely rude to show one's feet. but that racist comment was under the belt. khir toyo should grow a brain and some principles. ///Ej |

Thursday, May 01, 2003 Khir: No irregularities in state land allocation BY ELAN PERUMAL SHAH ALAM: Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo denied claims of irregularities in the allocation of state land to several state government officers, exco members and civil servants. Dr Khir said he had stated his interests during an exco meeting which approved the land applications and had abstained from being present at the meeting. “I did so when the land application of my private secretary Selamat Dollah, bodyguard Adzaman Mohd Yassin and driver Izman Farif Rahaman was brought up for approval. “They were among 107 successful applicants who were granted 0.4ha of land each in Dengkil,” he said yesterday. K. Toyo:
"I did so when the land application of my private secretary Selamat Dollah, bodyguard Adzaman Mohd Yassin and driver Izman Farif Rahaman was brought up for approval." To a rakyat biasa: "Whether the MB was in the meeting or not, the fact remains that all those applicants were approved; MB's driver, MB's body guard and MB's private secretary." K. Toyo, "Only 4% of civil servants granted government land". To a rakyat biasa: "I wonder who makes up the bulk of the 4% besides MB's driver, bodyguards and private secretary?? "I truely hope Toyo cares to read this thread. |

the reason why some of these ppl give land or shares to bodyguards is to be able to appropriate it at a future date with ease.
only 4% of civil servants granted government land? should they be more deserving? ///Ej |

Mingguan Malaysia's Awang Selamat asks Khir Toyo why having headaches answering queries on land give-away.
So long as it's done in transparency... When the **** starts to fly it gets in their faces. Talk die, don't talk also die so he should learn from the greatest proponent of Sun Tze's art of war, ling. Keep quiet and pretend like nothing happen and start talking about sars/je/close some massage joints and arrest some vcd sellers and also collect some loose change to build a 'university'. As if utar is a big deal. Does he not know that there are so many foreign affiliated universities with nice campuses in Malaysia already. He probably does not know since all his sons are graduates from the university of soh chee wen.

4:28pm Mon May 5th, 2003 LETTER Khir Toyo’s damaging outlook AAB It never stops to amaze me how our politicians can create interest with their not-so-wise comments. Dr Khir Toyo is developing into a legend, for his unusual, and sometimes destructive gaffes. During his term as Selangor MB, he has, amongst others, blamed women for not dressing up, thus making their husbands go astray and o_n a more seditious note, he talked about shedding blood should anyone go against Umno. These are amongst his ‘classics’. The latest is a threat to withdraw scholarships of Selangor students in the Middle East who are found wearing the Arabic clothes instead of shirts and pants. He went o_n to say that the Malay race is better than the Arab race, so there's no reason for them to wear Arabic attire. Imagine the ripple he sent through out the Arab world, but then again, if they know him well, they would just let it pass, since his ‘track record’ speaks for itself, and therefore he should not be taken seriously. I wonder why those who oppose so much the article in the Economist do not see the damage done to others by our own politicians. SOURCE: http://www.malaysiakini.com/letters/200305050034365.php |

Let me say it like this -
First It is the rakyat that gave him his seat, if they don't like it, they should vote him out - the moron that he is. Second The Prime Minister put him there. This makes him (PM) look twice as ridiculous. So the PM should do the honours of replacing or at least censuring him. Third The Sultan of Selangor agreed. Hmm.. I probably shouldn't say more. ![]()
