For that amount of sharkfin, I would be able to serve panseared shark steak with encrusted black and white sesame seeds over the bed of linguines in zesty lemon olive oil. And think of how many tables of ten I can serve with that. That would be wow! And if celebrities like Bruce Willis like it like hell.

I have no quarrel with any shark or frog fish or jack or ikan billis eater, who wallop the whole fish. Its not the food/fish per se. Its the CRUELTY involved in harvesting for vanity & show offishness.

The cruelty of slicing off the fins (dorsal, pectorals, pelvic, caudal and even anal fin) and then THROWN the many still alive but finless sharks back into the sea, that goats me! Go diving and appreciate sharky's grace, power and beauty. Then imagine Sharky bloodied, finless, alive and wriggling in pain, drowning...

Imagine if Sharky did that to you in Sharkland...YOU yes, the sharkfin soup eater, without 2 legs, 2 hands, bloodied and screamin' in pain, thrown back to sea...to drown a cruel senseless death.

These fins got processed, cooked & mixed with artificial fins (made mostly in Japan ~ bless 'em japs ~) and served as vanity dish.

99.9% of diners are Blur Sotongs when served with this CRUELTY SOUP. Many restaurants mixed real fins with artificial fins, up to 20:80%. Y u Blur sotong askin'?? Price diff lah! Anything from Rm1,000+ of real sharky to the lowly Rm30/kg of arti-fins.

But then again, many fins did not end up as CRUELTY soup. They are mainly for CRUELTY display in the restaurants. Recently it was reported that the indian suppliers have at least 30 tonnes of surplus stock of 'show-room' fins (aging, old stock, damaged etc) and they have great difficulties in finding buyers even at the price of RM$20/kg. ...Yes, Malaysian restaurants are very fond of displaying shark fins on their premises, to impress you!

Enjoy your shark fins soup. CHOKE on it! Will the Cruel and vain bastards please stand up!

Yang Boycott CRUELTY SOUP latotupai

Did you tell those beside you why you would not eat it ? If you did ,do they look covinced or bewildered. ?
