Bikers driving motorists up the wall

http://thestar.com.my/news/story.as...60801&sec=focus

Do these superbikers have the right to exceed the speed limit on the expressways with the so called marshalls?

Dear 'refuse to yield' ...go suck an egg.
Yes, the regulation speed is 110kph.
Yes, bikers do not pay toll.
Yes, marshals do not ahve the same autho as the cops.

Yes, u shall stick to theextreme or centre lane and let the faster road users (cars, bikes, bus, lorries, bicycles, bullock carts, joggers, rabbits and the speedier kinds) overtake your slow coach derriere, on the outer most right lane!

Only a rterad car owner doesnt know that big bikes pay more in excise, sales, tyres, road tax, insurance, etcetcetc than a silly-billy itsybitsy tincan!

Maybe the Marshall was Muhiddin, if he can be seen riding with the convoy without the safety helmets, apa lagi tak boleh?

i once encountered a police bikes escorted funeral service convoy. i was stuck in federal highway in a very bad jam on a sunday morning. the police bikes on siren tried to open the way. being the responsible and considerate citizen that i am, i moved over only to see a funeral car. i only let that particular car pass by to be respectful and that's it, the rest of the convoy....you guys guessed it..............and there was nothing those guys can do about it.........

anyway, i always tell wifey to do what i do when she encountered such bikers especially those of the mat lempit species, that is to keep calm (easier said than done of course). if they try to be funny, just brake if they are behind you, swerve sideways if they are beside you and if they are in front of you, don't brake....and never stop to talk to them.............scratches and dents on the car can be fixed. so i don't really understand why they behave in such manner as i myself also ride a big bike.....

Using the word 'retard/retarded' in a derogatory manner in this forum is probably seen as conflicting with the charity interests that members of this forum have been actively involved in, including Tupai himself.

I am guessing, that is the reason why Chang has made his decision.

Back to the topic itself...
in the interest of safety for such a large group/convoy of bikers, they(marshals) have to make certain that no larger vehicle makes any sudden moves that might cause any biker to make another sudden move to avoid an accident. That might not go so well with the rest of the bikers who are maintaining a certain speed. We don't want a nasty domino effect to happen.

It is also best to split up very large groups unless there is police escort of more than 2 officers to help the marshals manage.

Simple reason - do not use derogatory names in the Forum ... Rule 2 on name-calling

You are right in the responsibility of the marshals. However, it does not give them the right to assist the bikers to exceed the speed limits.

My friend, driving at speed limit 110kph doesn't give you the right to be on the fast lane. Sure, the bikes were fast and they move in a convoy, but you should just stick to the middle lane and let them pass. Even if the bikes go at 150kmph or more, its not for you or me as a car driver to comment, just don't hog the fast lane when you're doing 110kph.

So does bikers going at 150kmph or more. They should also move back to the middle lane to keep within the speed limit. Already they are exceeding the speed limit and hogging the fast lane. Precisely we are here to comment.

Friend, it is not for us to comment on bikers going at 150kmph... thats their business and with that kind of speed, they need to be on the fast and overtaking lane. If you are moving at 110kmph and you are not overtaking and there are faster traffic behind (in this case motorcycles) you should rightly be in the middle lane. Don't tell the bikers what speed they should be travelling at or what lane they should be travelling in, thats not for you to decide. Your decision should rightly be with your own vehicle ie you should not be in the fast & overtaking lane, period.

Its true you're here to comment but so am I here to debate you if your comment is wrongly placed.

You are right. Nobody tells an individual what to do. Be it which lane to stay on, what speed the individual goes, what laws to obey and which one to break.

I am not telling you which lane to use too when you're doing 110kmph and not overtaking. Common sense and the normal practice and protocol of using the highway will tell you to stick to the middle lane. Obviously you do not know that. I am not telling you nor do I wish to do so either. You are just plain ignorant about it and too proud to accept this as a rule and practice of normal motorists You continue to do what you want for all I care. Here I am trying to point out the practice and you are insinuating I am TELLING you... you do your own things at your own peril for all I care.
