I believe the book exchange will be held at Zinglicious' place today, Sunday 15 Nov between 4-5pm?
Just drop by to see what books there are to pick up and if you are not into reading, it is also good to meet up with other forum members ... not everyone goes to the first-Friday-night teh-tarik session, so this is also another meet the member session. I cannot vouch for the free gift, but at least we can have a drink at Zinglicious? |

Teh tarik without sweetened milk, ok in conjunction of today posting of sugary danger. Or Japanese green tea which I would recomend. It is a great detox and when I drink it , it makes me pee and pee.
BTW, it is not a book x change, but a preview and stocking up of books as it was suggested that the book x change be held in Dec. And it would be a great idea to get some free gift from Jan and perhaps pool some ideas how to make this club work. He is still the Fun manager! ![]()

Discussion on managing the book exchange was held at Zinglicious' shop on Sunday 15-Nov from 4pm. In attendance were mWong, jan tomaswaki, tupai, zinglicious, councillor Rajiv and myself. We had a great time chit-chatting and I can tell you that Zinglicious' coffee (Ipoh mali) is excellent.
![]() I shall not reveal who are the nicks in the photo ... you got to be there to know them. So, *shhhh*, please do not reveal their ID's As promised jan tomaswaki brought some goodie bags which you guys missed for not attending! ![]() I cannot tell you what were in the bags as I forgot to take one when I left ![]() |

1st - you guys missed out on Kopi C which is done with just two teaspoonful of sugar. ( within limits under healthy guidelines ) or japnese green tea with toasted rice ( which detox by making you pee and pee).
2nd - you guys missed out the goodies given out by Jan ( there are handy and we have a ball over it) 3rd - you guys missed out some books ( taken by some of us ) 4th - you guys missed out some caviar on toast. ( requested by Chang ) 5th - you guys missed out who the hell is Chang ( who bananaed you ) 6th - you guys missed out who is really the meanest among the lot. ( was it the Mr Presidentee or Mr Chef Ramsay wannabe. ) 7th - you guys missed out what grand plan lies ahead which may makes world headlines ( Rotary Club was started by four guys but this was started by an extra WoMAN. ) 8th - you guys missed out what went around the USJ 19 issue. ( the truth which finally prevailed after the personal investigation done by inhouse detective. ) 9th - you guys missed out the mean chef and Fun Manager questioning why threads should not be locked as USJ forumers are capable of deciding (what is factually true or half truth.) 10th - you guys missed out the free flowing beers by the courtesy of Tupai. ( Hic***) Things goes better with beer , not coke. ![]()

Let's get back to the proposed book exchange club - any reports on the decisions made and proposals on how it is to be operated?
I believe mWong should briefly mention what are in store for the first steps ... or maybe it will be announced when some preparations are in place? |

One of the suggestion is that books collected would be stamped and tagged under usj.com.my. The donors would be given the honors to write athier name or any want they nominated with a short message.
Mwong has volunteered to tag the books and list the number of books available and etc. SHe is also providing the bookshelf for storage. The fun manager woudl be organised more goodies and should needs arise, to raise funds to buy books through bookaton instead of walkaton. So he would be reading nonstop for the whole week in an enclosed box under lock and keys to raise funds from Tan Sri and Puan Sri....just kidding. ![]() But he sure seems fire up to make it a landmark succcess which was concur by Tupai. That's why he offered to buy beers to celebrate first hand. The councillor on the other hand had informed us that MPSJ office is planning to do the same book x change like the one at One Utama which was brought up to attention by Allurban. On the other hand, he said more books would be taken than given. KWchang however cautioned that it aint easy to get people to support this activities. But we were here having a ball and Jan said it was good as families bring up the families and meet. Coincidentally, he met Tupai Queen and knew her. unfortuantely there was no spicy story about Tupai but stories were told how he was grateful to Tupai Queen for ever willing to help her daughter in the Lick Hung kidnapping incident. The school then was so disorganised with the incidents that it had make many school frightened and Parents getting anxious and upset. As for me, I was listening intently because I was not doing much of the cooking. Hence the account of what went on that day. I was also busy looking around for some panhouse magazine. ![]()

Sorry for the tardiness in posting an update.
Continuing on with Z's posting on what you are missing; 11th - You guys/gals missed out on meeting a few humorous & colourful characters. 12th - You guys/gals missed out on some current & hot political discussions. Best part was and as Z had pointed out, kwchang can't give out any bananas for that. 13th - You guys/gals missed out on some juicy titbits which I believe was inadvertently spilled out - most probably due to the free flowing beers. Alright, back to the Bk Exc Club. Here are some extra proposals in addition to Z's: 1) It was proposed to have the Exchange every Sunday or at least twice/month, ie on the 1st & 3rd Sunday. Not feasible at the moment because we do not have the volunteers to help host (right context?) the Exchange on a more frequent basis. Will anyone volunteer to help so we can have the exchange at least twice/month? 2) It was proposed that in between the exchange day, whatever books/mags available will be kept in Zinglicious's place. On the exchange day, the books & mags will be brought to USJ2 Community Hall. Zinglicious has kindly offered his help to promote this Bk Exch/Loan Club to his customers whenever he can. Same basis will apply here. To quote Sentinel, "anyone can take a book as long as he brings a book in exchange. Novel for novel, text book for text book, hard cover for hard cover... no take first and give one book later basis... ". Slight correction: mWong will only provide a proper storage bin to store the books/mags and not a bookshelf. Z can always bring out the storage bin whenever anyone is interested in the bks/mags and put it to storage whenever they are not needed. At this moment, I have 30-40 books + some mags. This Friday, look for a list of books available for the exchange in the "Book corner". You are most welcome to "chup" the book you want & I will reserve it for your exchange on the Sunday that we have the gathering. Any queries & suggestions, don't hesitate to share. Have a nice day... |

I was PM'ed and asked that if it is necessarry to exchange x boooks with guidelines like hard for hard , soft for soft? And some are concerned going over to the balai USJ as for safety concern. In fact, the safety if it is lonely and just M wong is there all by herself while waiting for the bookwormers to come. In fact, the most idea place for the programme to be a success is to have it where there is alot of traffic .i.e in the mall on sunday.
Anyway, Jan is waiting for birra and stories to flow, and he says how ah? I said he is the Fun Manager and I am just a monkey awaiting for more funs. And I guess Tupai would be jumping all over with glee, too. Anymore party animals would be welcome to come on sunday while I was told to have the buffet dinner at 6 p.m. for the families. So, Mwong, dont worry, I would be making money and having fun like a monkey at the same time. Most of all, I would be advertising whole heartedly the goodness of no MSG buffet dinner which comes with more than 20 choices menu of American Italian refined cuisines and Malaysian Chinese local delights. In the pipelines, I would be trying to organise some public forum on healthy living by medical authorities i.e. Dato Suseela Nair, Dr Tee and perhaps get sponsorship from pharmaceutical companies to sponsor talks and dinners especially those marketing cardiovascular drugs and oncology drugs. Now, that means I wont be losing monies by giving freebiesas being part of your concern. And perhaps, the Fund Manager de facto can also raise funds on his end for this purpose too. So everybody, PM for reservations and go to the zinglicious zoo for some fun and food. But remember to bring some books and families too. "Lets go the the zoo, there's a lot of things to do. There is food! books! and some juicy stories, too!."

Book List
1) I have posted a list of books available for exchange/loan under the "BOOK CORNER" section for your perusal. Feel free to "chup" any book/s you're interested in. If you have any books/mags that you would like to contribute, they will be most welcome and appreciated.
Sentinel, thanks in advance for the books. Don't forget to join us if you are still in town when we have our bk exchange. 2) Zinglicious, appreciate your opening the place to us. I believe those who have been in Z's place for the past Bk Exchange meetings will agree that the place has great ambience with good food+drinks. He has rightly pointed out the safety concern I have of the USJ2 location, therefore, I'm all for having this exchange to be held in Zinglicious's place. Z, I'll be there this Sunday at 4pm but can't stay for dinner. (Sorry. Having some family stuff to take care of. Definitely next round)3) The next RES. BK EXCHANGE/LOAN CLUB meeting will be held this Sunday, 22nd November '09, starting 4pm. Not putting in the closing time as the last session ended way beyond indicated time. Don't forget to pm Z if you are having your dinner there as well. Hi Rajiv. Can I get back to you on Monday re. your query? Need to confirm a thing or two first. And, thank you for all your support and assistance. |
