I found Shaheezam [019-6416725], an electrican-cum-plumber from USJ11 to be very humble, good at his job, quick to come to the house and reasonably cheap. Can't ask for more. Actually got his name from another plumber who cancelled an appointment made earlier.

adriene, mebbe u can easily fix the leaky pipes yourself DIY style? perhaps u can state your problem here and i'm sure the many DIY forummers here will gladly give u tips and pointers and mebbe even come over and help u out? A lot of times this jobs are small and simple and straight forward which would cost u close to nothing but if u call the handyman the will charge u minimum 50 bucks?
    just offering my suggestion here.

    thanks for the pointers

    hi daws,

thanks for the pointers and the kind offer. what you're saying is probably right and true.

my plumbing problem is that the wide pipe that supplies the water to flush the loo is leaking. leaking happens at the point of flushing, not all the time. we did get it fixed 3 months ago by a plumber but the problem seems to have started again on its own somehow.

will have a peer at what is the problem, and what the previous plumber did.

first thing to detect where is leaking, flush it and c where does it leak, most likely either at the point just below the water tank or at the point the pipe enters the toilet bowl. a lot of times it's just a matter of repositioning the J-pipe because it's not sitting squarely at either end. What u neeed to do unscrew , loosen it and then try to shake it a bit and make sure it sits square and not senget to one side.
If the bottom where the J pipe joins the toilet bowl is leaking, check the rubber adapter interconnecting the Jpipe and the toilet bowl, if it's broken then buy from hardware store and replace. if not broken mebbe u need to get some silicone and spread it around the connecter hope this helps out
