Neurofibromatosis patient needs HELP with T-Shirt Printing

    Hello there!

I'm a patient of Neurofibromatosis and I wish to sell t-shirts to fund my surgeries. Does anyone know any good and reputable t-shirt printer/suppliers in Malaysia?

I hope to get a low price because this is considered a charitable cause. Best if the supplier is willing to offer a low minimum print, so I can have the shirt in a few different sizes.

Please let me know if you have any leads. Thank you!

My neighbor Ben Ong does premium Tshirts (prints and stitch embroidery) for golf clubs and big brand names. But I think you can get the Tshirts at cost or without the brand/logo.

Mebbe you wanna give him a call at this number. 012-3046448.

Another place you can source Tshirts would be at Jalan Kenanga. (Near San Peng Flats. KL) The place is full of wholesalers and you can also get Tshirts as low as RM7 for basic/plain color - collared Tshirts.

Hello everyone, thank you for the feedback.

Orchi I wrote about my illness over here http://www.yvonnefoong.com/neurofibromatosis/

USJ27Resident Thanks for the contact. Seems like t-shirts are pretty cheap. It's the printing that is costly.

More feedbacks are very welcomed. I'm still looking forward to the good work of a graphics designer.

Hi yvonne... may I also suggest the freelance designers at Pertama Complex or Central Market... they do pretty good art works...

then again... what do you actually want/need...

Artwork and the cost of printing can be pretty expensive because it involves either stencils/program blocks for embroidery works and then if it is silkscreens - it would be cheaper...

Another alternative would be printwork... meaning using t-shirt transfer paper..8½" x 11" Inkjet Hot/Cold Peel T-Shirt transfer paper For use on white or light backgrounds! Iron on to T-shirt, mouse pad, coaster, book bag and a whole lot more using an ordinary household iron.Hot peel leaves a satin finish & cold peel leaves a high gloss finish. It can cost between RM 3.50 - RM 4.50 per piece depending on brand make and quantity. They also make the transfer paper for dark/black tshirts too, but that is pretty expensive. ....

Check out this site.... t shirt designs

    Cheers...

Err... Yvonne... if you want... I have a Internal CD Burner... which I do not use. If you have a PC without one... I will GIVE it to you... it's plug n play... so you can burn your designs onto CDs and can pass on to your printers/suppliers... Would be easier for you with CDs than hard copies...

    Lemme know...

I already have some people designing the logo for free, so let's skip over to the t-shirt aspect. The iron print sounds interesting. It's not in fashion anympre but that doesn't matter. The quality is not very good though, it comes off by the heat of the iron. I'm not sure about this, will have to survey around to see what people prefer. Then again, its not the quality of the t-shirt, its the fact that the money goes to help me that matters.

I want the T-shirt to be black, and has a pink heart on it. I also want an inspirational quote on either side. Something like "Live for others" or "Love one, Love all" or... something like that sort.

I tiold my friend to give Mr. Ong a call and she will get back to me with the details ASAP. I'm deaf you see, so I have to rely on my friends to do the communication work.

But when you talk about the iron-on thing, do you mean that we need to get our own shirts at wholesalers, then order the prints, and do the job ourselves? But I remember the iron-on machine is a very big chunk and should be expensive.

On the other hand, if it's silkscreens, the manufacturer will handle everything?

Hmmm... we'll see how the maths work for both.

Hey, and you know what? a CD burner is just exactly what I need. I've always wanted to get one, but more important needs tend to come along all the time.

I have been to PD & Cameron Highlands recently.

I wonder how those folks over there manage to be able to price those souvenir T-shirts sold over there at such lowly prices of RM5 & RM8 respectively.

This is something new to me and I think a number of you share my thought as well. Now that Yvonne is thinking of doing something to raise funds for her treatment and such, can I suggest that the good people of this forum do our bit too to help our friend.

I start the ball rolling by suggesting a car wash drive. I'm sorry if it sounds shallow, guys. It would also allow more and more people to know about this disease and allow USJ/SJ residents to do their bit for a needy 'neighbour'.

Any other thoughts are most welcome.

Don't mean to hijack the thread. Just something that crossed the mind.

Pak Kadok I wonder. Or maybe the manufacturer is trying to dispose them, so they don't mind loosing money instead of sending the shirts to the dumps. I don't know... Just a wild guess.

lors thank you! any form of help is greatly appreciated. help spread awareness about NF as well.

Having gone to Yvonne Foong website, I would like to expand on what our lord has proposed which I hope would resolve the problem that Yvonne is saddled with. Yvonne is a living example of this illness called Neurofibromatosis. She has been undergoing surgeries every year since she was first diagnosed. Not only did it bring her a lot of pain, it also introduced her new perspectives about life. It gave her the opportunities to see the world and meet people from different cultures.

I like the idea of a community car wash which we can organise for a good cause and at the same time brings the community closer together and have fun. Since Yvonne is very concerned about cost, let us as usj.com.my organise this car wash to raise capital to print 1,000 T shirts for a start. We can then outsource to any supplier who can supply good quality Tshirts and print them at a cost of not more than RM 10.00. We will then price it at RM 25 and the buyer can choose to pay more if he or she likes the design, is comfortable with it and have a nice thought that the money is going for a good cause. The profit margin will be even greater if we can get a corporate sponsor to chip in and the sponsor will get the privilege to place his company logo on the Tshirt but without any slogan as we do not want anything else printed on it except the design as seen above that was so chosen by Yvonne.

I like using the Tshirt to raise fund for the medical expenses for Yvonne as we can also use this Tshirt to create a awareness of this illness called Neurofibromatosis. For all the negativity that Yvonne has to go through because of Neurofibromatosis, she does not wish it will be the same for others. Hence, this Tshirt I hope will create the awareness of Neurofibromatosis in hope that more people will know about it.

I invite the rest of the community to put forth their two sens worth of thoughts how this commnuity can rally to help her to achieve what she set out to do.
