It happen to that i went to two seminars,
one is conducted by a MLM and another is at cyberjaya

for the seminar conducted by the MLM
    - almost full seated, approx 95 % - 98 % (38 hundreds audiences)
    - audience age range 19++ (the fella sit beside me) to 45++
    - 38 hundreds of audience from variety fields

    for the seminar at cyberjaya
    - haha not even 40 % ( 200 audiences )
    - audience age im the youngest i guess
    - IT field only

Is it the trend has move to MLM rather than technologies

Im been wondering will that affecting the development of our country in long run, it seems like the trend in Malaysia has move to MLM. Although it wont gurantee that my perception is correct since i just went for the seminar for both once..

    Your viewpoints are much appreciate

I don't want to knock the MLM industry as I know that it can be a legitimate form of distribution of goods and services, regardless of the various black sheep that the industry generates (then again, which industry doesn't).

Nonetheless, MLM is just another form of distribution of goods & services. Whether or not it is a much more efficient system depends on one's own interpretation lar.

One thing I can say is, MLM gurus have been predicting the demise of the "traditional" method of distribution for decades, so far it hasn't happened. Does it mean the fella is lying? Not really lar .. he's optimistic to say the least but I would suggest common sense and a good calculator before you jump into any MLM programme.

A couple of red flags to look out for would be :
    • No AJL licence
    • Front loading required (ie. you have to buy RMXX amount of stuff to qualify for bonus and you gotta do it NOW)

MLM is a legitimate business model, no doubt about that .. but to give it too much credit isn't a very smart move.

Frankly I dunno how to compare a durian with banana ... and how to draw conclusion from this.

MLM seminar can be attended by any Tom, Harry and Dick .. but the Cyberjaya meeting is only for ppl in the IT field ... and number of ppl attended the seminar also doesn't mean a thing if nobody put it in action ..

i.e. UMNO and MCA general meeting attended by hundred thousands members, thousands of ppl show up in Batu cave during Thaipusam and compare to our community meeting only attended by handful .. so what conclusion we want to draw here ? life still go on mah ..... to compare everything between politic, professional field, business, religion, community service dan lain-lain against vision .. one need to be very free lor ...

The "so-called as the MLM" will not affect our country's vision in long run.

    There .. satisfied?

The only other incident I have heard where the "so-called as the MLM" affecting a country's vision is the scams masquerading as network marketing that proliferated in Albania in the early 90's. It got so bad and so many lost money that the government eventually collapsed under the pressure from the people.

    So much for that vision.

Do you forsee this happening in Malaysia? Probably not unless you keep us in intellectual blinkers for another couple of decades, kill the free market economy (albeit guided in our case) and then unleash a bunch of scammers among us. Then, it won't be the "so-called as the MLM" affecting the vision, the initial steps already are enough to kill whatever vision we may have had in the first place.
