    Lorong maut mat motor

“Malah saya turut berang kerana kejadian jam 8 pagi semalam itu hampir menyebabkan motosikal saya merempuh dinding terowong selepas tayar depan pancit mendadak,” katanya.

    =============

    I ride everyday.

My suggestion is that every time you come across a bike down and its tyre being repaired, please stop and ask the instant repair-man how fast he responded to the down-biker. DO NOT accuse him but just put in a word that there are irresponsible crooks out there who are putting nails to trap bikers. Warn the down-biker that this trick is causing us money and endangering our lives.

Then put in an implied WARNING that bikers are aware of this dirty & dangerous trick and that when the crook is caught, he can expect a REAL beating...

Call me and I shall lend a kevlar glove to his face and a steel-boot to his stomach. I AM SERIOUS and I am only usually 5-10minutes away from the subang-LDP stretch.

I ride occasionally as well, but I must admit that I seldom use the federal highway. The bike lane there is a death trap, now further compounded by the fact that some idiots are dropping scores of nails in a riders path.

It is crucial to understand that a bike is very much a different creature than a car. Losing the pressure of your front wheels at speeds anywhere higher than as much as 30km/h can be fatal. It takes very little to fall awkwardly and crack your neck. Falling on your butt can crack your vertabrae and paralyse you for life. That's why most recreational bikers wear body armour. We have seen too many friends go, and go without a single bruise on their body. (I know only too well that Tupai has seen his share.)

And these guys do it so they can charge some poor motorcyclist 15 bucks? That's bloody insane.

Tupai, if you need another pair of gloves and boot, I'm in. This kind of things burn me up. Going to blog about this tomorrow.

Three yrs ago I whacked into two policement on my ST1100 at the Fed Highway bike lane at 5am in the morning.

I was riding down to Seremban on a Saturday morning to visit some nephews and nieces there and coming out of the tunnel onto the part of the lane opposite Angkasapuri, suddenly two coppers switched on their torches and shone at me.

I was hardly awake at 5am and thank God I was doing just 50-60kmph then. Luckily too, University Hospital was just 5 minutes away too.

Broke some plastic parts of the bike. Made a police report and call them idiotic to be doing what they did.

Come this August 11, is the 10th Anniversary of a biker who passed away at Jelebu, N.Sembilan on a SRAD750. He was a successful young lawyer staying in USJ6, one of the nicest guy I have ever known and one of my closest confidante.

God bless you DucaTEIK - and you will always be with us !!!

p/s Betong chicken is at least 5kg in weight. The sheer size of the chicken earns it a place as the town official mascot. It has its own 10meters replica in the town roundabout. Believe it or not?
