second hand furnitures/elec. appliances 'buyer'
hi, anyone knows any of those second hand furnitures/elec. appliances buyer? I heard from friends that they will come to your house to collect the items. Thanks!
Yah..same here..I have a lot of second hand furniture.
Maybe you guys should just have a garage sale together!
I would like to sell some of my electrical appliances too, I am moving next month and would like to sell some of the items. Anyone has any contact, please share. Thanks!
Try calling the advetisers in the Star Classified under "Articles for Sale/Wanted"
Good luck! Hope you'll all get good deals
I remember there's a shop near Goodyear Court 7 taking in 2nd hand stuffs like electrical items, furnitures & fittings etc. Used to see the lorry doing roundings around the area. Do check it out...
There is a second hand store in SS14 opposite the BP off Jln Kewajipan. There are a few more big ones in Tmn Tun, don't have the phone numbers though.
When I was moving house many years back, I sold a rather expensive bedroom suite to one of them for peanuts, a big fridge can fetch a couple hundred if in good condition. Expect no more than 5-15% the cost of a new item depending on item n condition. If u are looking for good price for your used furniture, do a garage sale instead, or sell on lelong.com or any online forums.
The second hand dealers will come to your house to evaluate the items, make a cash offer and collect from u, saves a lot of hassle. Can bargain only if u have something they really need. Don't bother calling them to buy cheap wardrobes (RM150-300 types) from u, they will only collect it if u got other worthwhile items, u get a couple of teh tarik for the cheap wardrobe if they did collect from u, hahahaha!
Popular items: bedroom sets, fridge, office furnitures.
Infact there are a few...as mentioned by PJS on SS14 (Jln kewajipan) shophouse, just after the kesas highway crossing, if you are travelling from USJ to SJ.
Then there is a newly opened used goods store in SS15 (about 6 months back). I cant remember the address, just drive in SS15, and ask around.
Then there is one at SS2 in PJ, cant remember the name either, its pretty big. You could buy and sell at bargain price.
Then there is another at Taman Mayang along LDP, its called CA$H something...
Hope that helps
It's called Cash Converters but they don't collect from your house. You send it there, maybe transport more than what you get!

"Freecycle lies somewhere between the garage sale and the dump, and is much cooler than either. It's an innovative concept that harnesses the power of the Internet to do what the Internet does best -- eliminate the middleman and empower the individual. Freecycle allows for personal contact between donor and recipient -- each gets exactly what they want, and nobody is considered a 'charity case.' Many members both give and receive items on a regular basis. No overhead, no intermediaries, no money changing hands, no waste and no catch, and everyone's happy. Charities and NGOs may also post their needs here.
Use Freecycle to organise and DE CLUTTER.
Freecycle. One simple, brilliant idea that's changing the world one gift at a time."
