    VOIP phone services from Telekom

Anyone subscribe to this services from TM that claims to reduce cost by as much as 30% or more for both home and office. Feel silly asking this after signing up. Any quirks so far?

I can give some inputs on the e-Voice thingey that TM Net markets.
    I m a reseller for this product.
It is important that I say this up front.
U know why of course. U dont ??
Doesnt "chang" & "bananas" mean anything to u ?
pm me and we can talk shop outside this thread but if it is general info (i.e. +'s & -'s ) abt VOIP prds, maybe we can talk here. But tread carefully, veerrrrrrry carefully ....
CCY, the claim abt reducing tele-bills is entirely true.
Your figure of 30% wld vary from offerer to offerer. TM Net does it ..... So do Nasioncall, Redtone, Xingtel & a host of other chappies.
    Varying claims hv been made.
Rightnow a cut throat price war is going on.
It is quite likely that the network owners will win in the end.
Only TM, Maxis & Time Telekom own digital networks. U can figure that out from cost point of view & provision of gateways point of view.
There is a view that wired networks are on their way out .... i.e wireless is the future. There is truth to it. But in the meantime ( i.e. b4 future arrives ) ..... what technology exists ?? What technology does our gomen force us to live with ????

CCY, the %age you mention wld vary with ISD, STD, H/phone & the like.
Anything more ..... I will be in the banana plantation tallying me banana again ....

Come Mistah Tallyman, tally me banana ...
Eli come me gotta go home ........

JG ...thanks for the info. Sorry I can't give any more bananas to you . TM taken it to the wok for some frying.
The good point about TM is that there is no need to change the phone number when doing a call. If the evoice died ,claim that it can still operate on normal as before. According to them installation now is free.
With the projected cost saving for me comes to 1k+ rm per month. Yet to see the result.
Kinda funny when TM came knocking for us to subscribe to it that will eventually reduce their taking. The reason given was as what you say ...if TM don't do it to hold on to its existing customer , TM is going to loose this customer to other operator.

To be very honest wth u I thot all such providers ( meaning not only TM, the one I represent ) do not require u to change numbers. M I rong ?

If u mean that life as we know it will go on .....YES. But u will be required, in the meanwhile to dial a number that "takes" you to the gateway first, followed by the number that u actually want to get.

Absolutely rite. Trust the TM chappies to react now. Redtone & Nasioncall have been around for ages and TM just woke up to the real possibility of loosing out to these outsiders. Despite starting late .......... hey, I must say these blokes TM, r not bad at all, lor.
