Deputy Minister suspended over Dewan outburst

Bravo!, Mr Sothinathan for standing up for the rights and plights for the minorities of this country. I salute you.

Why did not the other MCA and MIC MPs support him in Parliment.?

Interesting. Well to start with, I'm really disappointed with Pak Lah. One one hand he says he wants to resurrect the parliament, but his actions are totally the opposite. It was the same thing last year when he forbade the parliament to discuss the peninsula-wide power outage... It's like he doesn't even know what a working parliament is...

In European parliaments, not the least Westminster - the archetype of the Malaysian parliament - you often see MPs from the same party - or coalition parties - debating issues with each other.

I can't remember now how many non-BN MPs we have, assume it's 12. So debate would then only be allowed when it involves those 12 ?

Then of course we have this weird debate itself...but I think there were sufficient comments already to cover this topic comprehensively...
    See you...

If Pak Lah is what he claims himself to be, IMO, Sothi is the "fall guy". Since a precedent is already set, there could be more suspension/firing, I hope.

Err...Saudara IsaRahim...you are not alone on this...seeing how those 'clowns' acts' preceded in parliament of late...no bluddy wonder how...plenty of rakyat jelata are in tears...

Ahem...a true Statesman he couldn't be...but the worst is yet to become of his realm...

Make no mistake of it ........ this is another wayang kulit OR sendiwara OR nadagam (drama in Tamil)
All it takes is some backdoor manouveuring by Samy ......and Subramaniam is history ..... after his 3 month sabbathical, Sothi will firmly be in the line of accession to the throne ......
The kids in the Crimea will remain screwed ........ & Indians as a community will richly deserve Samy as their sheppard ......

Milking personal political advantage out of any situation, while seeming to be the knight in shining armour, is a fine skill ..... Samy has honed it to an art ....

The now forgotten Director of Pornographic Videos was an overnight star (pun intended) when he defended an Indian in that temple killing incident.
Now SOTHI ..... another star is born .........

Malaysia is a democratic country???? How to answer?? , MP already cannot voice up their opinion, then we rakyat lagi worst.
I suggest all the MPs save rakyat money and time, no need come to parliament lar, specially those far way from KL. U come here also no point, just be pengangguk only. What can you debate in parliament?? Just put a patung in parliament then plaster the mouth, rest at home better.

Next election, looking forward more opposition will appear in parliament. Essentially, I still support bn, but we also need some opposition to correct if the government is doing wrong.

Everytime look at tv, very sympathy to Ah Siang, , HE the only ONE fighting with dunno how many dozen of bn folks. How to fight?? 1 to many.
Anyway, wish him Ah Siang Boleh.

BTW, how come the Deputy Minister and Klang MP wasnt suspended from her govt post despite being suspended from her party?

Perhaps its ok to go against one's own party, but not against another party

By the way, I would not be at all surprised if an independent research found that the actual education quality in non-recognised universities is superior to that of recognised universities. This LAN thing is a complete joke...

Sothinathan will live on. It is 3 months only. His mistake was standing up and saying the right stuff. He must be kicking himself but emotions got over him, read the hansard to see why he got so emotional. But it was good that he stood up and mentioned about the no letter objection issued by Higher Edu Ministry. He broke away from the fornt bench tus got suspended

So Sothi has actually done good for his career in MIC and he will continue to move on and climb up the ladder.

What is more of concern is the CSMU students. Totally unfair to the majority of the students when the the few were issued with a letter from the ministry. Why did CSMU rely on this letter only and not look at the results.

Looks like Pak Lah need to come to rescue again.

MCA MPs know how to toe the line, they can do community service but to speak up and fight for our rights??? Not so sure about it.

Totally agree with you. Its a fact and cannot be denied that most MPs and Ministers are more concerned about their investments that is tucked away, spending lavishily on food and giving their children the best education.

This culture of 'tidak apa attitude' and 'saya tak tahu 'is quite prevalent and noticeable. Do you think they want to ruffle the feathers when the going is good.. and upset their paymasters, they dont care a damn about this country and its people.

I will vote DAP in the next election, wasting my time voting for MCA MPs
