Car break in in USJ 2

My sister's car was broken into in USJ 2/4N on Wednesday. The back passenger window was broken and her CD player and sunglasses stolen. Her car was parked outside.
A month ago while walking towards the walkover to summit, I witnessed a similar theft - the thieves got away on a motorbike. What I find frustrating that even after a phone call to the police station, there are still no frequent patrols around.
    Be wary everyone.

We should also look at the root of the problem rather than to rely on the police all the time. Is it because our country is encouraging too many of these undesirable people to live here ?

I think it's just insane that we are driven to live in so much fear - don't walk with your handbag - grille all the windows , lock your gear, stearing wheel...the list goes on.
whatever happened to those days when kids roamed fluidly from a neighbours house to the next?

Believe you me Shamalasp, it is still like that, kids roaming freely and people can leave their cars unlocked, here in Brunei. Our country's security system has broken down, if you ask me. Just look at the ongoing Michael Soosai case and the exposures of (alleged) cahoot between cops and robbers....

    tsk tsk tsk
Just one of those things, but what bugs me more is that Subang/ USJ seems to have high incidences of such things despite it being a middle/ middle upper community.

The Balai must be up and running in USJ ....

My ex-boss from Australia visited my house and asked why do we live as though we are in jails. All our houses have grilled door, grilled sliding door, grilled windows.

What to do, for security sake, we now live like prisoners!!

Oppps I forgot to mention that my neighbour's car parked along USJ2/2R had a broken window too on last Sat. Nothing was stolen though cos the car was empty. But my neighbour has to pay a couple of hundred ringgits to repair the broken window of his BMW.

Hmmm...seems like quite a rampant thing in USJ eh? Is the same all over or limited to USJ? I would very much like to band together with fellow USJians to look into the possibilites of hiring a private securit company.

i am reading frequently about communities hiring security, for as little as 35 to 50 RM per month and house.
sending sms after sms, for 50 RM per month still nothing happens and the police is allways late anyway - how would they have one policeman per street or so ???
i am desperately trying to find a way to get ppl together for such a thing in usj11, but unfortunately they must think i am insane or so...not even Nwatchnet did reply to my questions.....

PILFERAGE AT KLIA: Security tags made it easy for suspects
ADIE SURI ZULKEFLLI SEPANG, June 18:

Despite being removed from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)
baggage handling area on suspicion of pilfering, three auxilliary policemen
allegedly used their security tags to gain access to the area.

The Malay Mail learnt that there is a high probability that the trio - one
of them holding the rank of corporal - used the red-coloured tag which
provides unlimited access for security personnel in KLIA.

Investigators believe this would explain how pilfering continued, although
the suspects were transferred from the baggage handling area to the 'ground
area' three months before they were arrested on Tuesday.

A source told The Malay Mail that despite being re-assigned to ground
duties, the three, who had been serving at KLIA for at least 10 years, were
still attached to the security division.

"With the security passes, they could have used the airport terminal's exits
with valuables taken from the baggage of passengers," said the source.

It is believed that the suspects, who worked in same shifts most of the
time, might have worked hand-in-hand in the delicate execution of the
    crimes.

Since all baggage pass through three X-ray machines, investigators believe
one of the suspects could have waited near the machines to single out bags
    with valuables.

Once a bag is identified, his two accomplices would pick it up for
    'inspection'.

Most pilferage, it is learnt, occurred after midnight as there were flights
to developed nations with passengers with high-end belongings and valuables.

The source said that since one of the trio was formerly attached to the
Security Operation Centre's closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) control
room, he could have been 'very familiar' with the system.

There are about 100 CCTVs in the baggage handling area while the entire KLIA
premises is monitored by more than 1,000 CCTVs.

"This would explain why the trio's activities were not recorded by the CCTVs
over the past months or for that matter, even years," he said.

The Malay Mail has learnt that police are making headway in identifying the
    'fence'.

On Tuesday, police arrested the suspects and recovered stolen laptops,
digital cameras, jewellery and a substantial amount of money from their
    homes.

Passes not seized as they were still airport employees
    SEPANG, June 18:

A Malaysia Airports Holding Bhd (MAB) spokesman said the security passes of
the three suspects were not seized as they were still its employees.

"They were transferred to do ground work and put under surveillance.

"As the three were not removed from the security division, we felt there was
no reason to take away their passes," he said.

He explained that they could not simply limit the security personnel's
movement as this would affect the airport's efficiency and operations.

In the wake of the arrests, the spokesman said MAB would increase
supervision of its security personnel but had no plans to restrict their
    movement.

"We have to take manpower constraints into consideration," he said.

On Thursday, MAB security and safety services senior general manager Datuk
Kamaruddin Mohd Ismail revealed that between 2000 and last year, 88 MAB
staff, including its security personnel, were arrested for pilfering.

Kayveas: Act fast to protect KLIA's image
HALIM SAID KUALA LUMPUR, June 18:

Security measures at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) must be
    improved to stop pilferage.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk M. Kayveas, said
there is no other way to solve the problem than to beef up the security.

He said such criminal acts by airport personnel should not happen at KLIA -
rated as the fourth best in the world.

"I am worried that people will lose their confidence in the airport's
operations, if no permanent solution is taken," said Kayveas, who is also
People's Progressive Party president, after an event at the party's
headquarters in Jalan Kampung Attap last night.

The event was to introduce Datuk Jason Goh, the party's new Selangor
    chairman, to division leaders.

Goh, formerly MCA Klang division vice-chairman, was appointed on May 29,
replacing his predecessor, Pritpal Singh Sidhu, who resigned to concentrate
    on his business.

Kayveas said security measures should not only be improved at the baggage
handling area, but also all over the airport.

He said recently his friend from Bahrain lost his luggage to unscrupulous
people upon arrival at the airport.

"Some people offered to push his luggage trolley for him and he agreed.
Suddenly, he realised that his luggage had gone missing," he said.

He said his friend lost nearly RM200,000 in cash and personal belongings in
    the incident.

    Hello all...

Parked my car outside my house yesterday (just moved into USJ 11/3C about a month ago, formerly in USJ 3A). Was ready to get into my car today morning when i noticed a piece of shattered glass lying on the road. Unknowingly and happily went nearer to my car but to discover that piece belongs to my passenger side window (car tinted, so the whole piece was ripped of and thrown onto the road) . I think the thief must have attempted to break into my car, but failed to. My car was still locked, nothing missing. Think they used screw driver.. kinda left some marks near the window.

Made a police report at USJ 8 and was told by the officer that it's a norm in USJ 11... sigh. Previously the thieves would target USJ 6 and USJ 9, but changed their 'cari makan haven' to USJ 11 after the police frequent USJ 6 and USJ 9. Even my friendly neighbours told me so, especially our row. Just got my window fixed, have yet to tint it.. sigh.. what a bomb to my pocket.

Let's give the policemen better housing. That'll solve the problem.
    See you...
