Photos were taken using a Nikon D-100, with just one walk-about lens, a Nikkor AFD 28-200mm, no flash. Some shots were taken with a circular polariser filter.

If you click on the images you should be able to see the settings (aperture and shutter speed) for each shot.

The pictures were shot on JPG Large, resized to around 150k (500 x 350 pixels) before posting in the USJ digital gallery.

Look out for more smashing shots from Dreamer, YS Loh and Nazree who made the trip with me. (The people in the picture were purposely cast small as we shun over-publicity. )

Do you think we had placed our self-timer camera 'hanging' above the swimming pool? (Hint: There's no swimming pool at Bharat teahouse!)

    Cheers!

'Cuti-cuti Malaysia' outing like this, I thnk, is worth exploring.

    What we have found out:
( 1 ) Get into an 'economical' group - four in a car is best.
    ( 2 ) A 2D1N outing to Cameron Highlands won;t cost more than RM150 per head.
( 3 ) Take your annual leave, go on weekdays - lower hotel rates, less tourists.
( 4 ) For Klang Valley folks, go up via Tapah, get down via Simpang Pulai.
    ( 5 ) Our total expenditure was RM600.

BTW, the breakdown for the RM600 is:
    • Lodging RM376 - 2 rooms at Hotel Heritage (Tanah Rata) - RM188 nett x 2 - inclusive of steamboat dinner and buffet breakfast for 4 pax

    • Travel RM105 - Petrol (RM65) & Toll (RM40)

    • Makan-makan RM120 - Hey! It's only RM30 per pax for 1 breakfast, 2 lunches and beverages along the way: Regular stuff: Nasi lemak/Roti canai/Nasi Goreng and lots of nescafe/teh tarik etc

Wanna try? But friendship and camaraderie is something you can't stick a price.

Used to go there but not this year as Silverpark had increased their rates, as seen from the recent Matta fair.

Most of the time I just call a few days earlier to check out it's rate and availability for the weekend . Rates varies all the time on all resorts up there ...Pine , Jeliau ,Shahzan . Sometimes to the extent of doing it early saturday morning and goes through the 11am gap time n back on sunday .

May consider a worthwhile break. Go on Friday morning, back on Sat?

Haven't been to C H'land for a long time. What is journey time, and how's the journey itself? Is the slope steeper than the way to Gotong Jaya*?
Use to go Gotong Jaya - lot's of hill side treking available & couple of tehtarek/mamak shops, makan shops avail. Weather not too cold, accessible -45mins away. Plenty of greenaries. Can go via Genting Sempah way, back via Ulu Yam way, and along there is a nice Reservoir before hitting Batu Caves.

Not sure what the costs at H Malaysia or another one nearby. Use to stay in in-law's apartm closeby - Tennis/Badminton court, jacuzzi/swimingpool, Gym workout at rec/sports cntr there - a restaurant. Downside - no vegtea plantation, weekend traffic maybe heavy. Not too bad for an alternative low-cost easy accessible get-away.

*GJ is little stopover on way to Genting.
War does not determine who is right, it determines who is left.
Do u have any contribution to make on the SJ/USJ Traffic Problems?

The gradient of road leading up Cameron Highlands via Tapah is less steep than the one going to Genting... but much narrower until beyond Ringlet.

On the way up, the hill slope is on your left, and the gulleys and valleys are again on your way down. In between, trucks are negotiating thebends like having drivers blind-folded... they are so skillful and perhaps you are not.

We didn't know that tghe 'mossie forest' near Bukit Brinchangis now being sold as a tourist attraction as Malaysia's 'Lord of the Rings' forest?

We didn't plan for that and there'll be time to explore again!
