Thank you for the advice and suggestions, I really appreciate it. I have been calling the manufacturer all this while but when it came to my a/c I called my regular service man (because i thought the air con just needed servicing). Anyway he did a good job flushing out all the dirt. After he had finished he said there was a bad odour, so he opened up the unit and cleaned the internal parts and then pumped gas. The last two days I put my air-con on auto and it is quite cooling. Will call SHARP if there is a problem. The big headache is I lost the gurantee card. Don't know if the manufacturer will honour the 4 year warranty for the compressor.

He tadvised me to get another air-con if the problem reoccurs as the compressor is too expensive and potong ones are not reliable. Is this true?

A friend of mine told me the the compressor is guranteed for 5yrs, I looked fot my gurantee card but could'nt find it. I must have got lost while I shifted. Can I still got back to the dealer, do they have a record of when the unit was bought?
There are several problem that can result in the blower oozing out warm air.
Gas leakage, compressor cooling fan failure, compressor failure, compressor motor capacitor failure, temperature sensor/regulator failure, power relay for compressor failure, wiring to compressor broken, blocked evaporator orifice cause by moisture freeze or dirt...and a couple of others. Motor capacitor tend to fail or partially fail often enough. Motor still run at partial failure with reduce speed n may not be fast enough for any effective cooling.

Get a second opinion from another before embarking on a change. I found my national 1.5hp of 6yrs with a compressor motor capacitor failure. Get it change for 20rm diy.

normally air con compressor warranty for 5 years. i dun think is a good idea 2 call 2 sharp office direct. they won't entertaint u if u dun carry d warranty card. u should go back 2 d dealer who's sell d sharp air con 2 u. normally they do have the record of ur purchase. what i heard from my friend ( KK Aircond -air con dealer in USJ), they will record the particular of the customer. like customer name n contact, brand of the air con, model, date of purchase, serial number. even customer lost their warranty card, they still try 2 help his customer 2 solve their claim (if still under warranty period). so, pls look for the sharp dealer who sell d air con for u. they may help u. good luck.

this model is look nice for deco. hehe... what i heard from my friend do bought this model n install at kepong. he say the swing is very noisy n the service team from LG action is very slow. when he make the complain (not cool n noisy) after 3 days the LG technician only turn up. of cuz finally solve d problem take about a week time. recently i heard from him said the swing start noisy again. i did saw this unit b4, maybe d swing louver too thin, when d air blow out than noisy. i still prefer Fujitsu new model Plastream Ozone 03. i really satisfied this model. this is plasma air con, produce negative ion, do have deodorizing filter (washable filter). the filters lasting for 6-8 years than only have a chance. it's can safe our cost. i know this filter is function, cuz last week my baby vomit milk in my room,it's really smelly. the air con is on that time, after about 15-20 minutes the smell is gone. so i can sure this function is work. trust me, if u wan a good air con for ur own use, look for Fujitsu air con. i had 100% confidence on it.

Pls correct this statement if I'm wrong.

Also, electrostatic filters are consumables which requires replacement after every 2-3 yrs. It can be quite pricy to replace them at the moment.

Has Fujitsu been in the market for 6-8 years or is it being promoted now. Malaysian brand using Japanese name?

YORK aircond with easy maintenance feature

    Hi,

Anyone used the new YORK aircond with easy maintenance feature. From what I read, we only need to remove 2 screws to remove the fan for cleaning. I thought this is good as it will save money.

If you have used this before, please share your experience.

    Thank you.

My friends, as far as the market know, there is no more Made in Japan air cond selling in Malaysia. Toshiba, Mitsubishi from Thailand; LG, Pensonic, Elba, MEC, Haier, Midea from China...
I am using National air cond since 1995 when I moved in to my 'new' house and it still perfect with only two times technician cleaning service. I have another York brand but seldom use. I think all air cond can cool down the room, but what else they can do? Healthier living, convenience to user also should be considered. And the most important thing is service.

i hv been running 2 units lg 4 3 yrs+ no problem except i maybe d swing angle 2 can b improved upon. important thing is 2 keep d unit clean. if d blower is clogged with dust it can b a bearable wee bit noisy. clean it n d noise disappears - n d air feels fresher too. touch wood, no servicing needed so far.

as 4 puritee, i too feel its a gimmick not worth acquiring. heard that its expensive maintenance too. i use a separate portable air purifier/ionizer. advantage is it can b used anywhere in d hse n anytime independently of d aircond. n if either gadget gives trouble, i still hv d other.
