    Question USJ Tree become botak??

I am working in USJ, staying at Old Klang Road. I like the tree all the way in Persiaran Kewajipan(I pass by everyday to my office).

Recently I found that "some body" was helping the tree to "cut hair" until botak. IF the branch too long or it was danger to the driver then you cut it, I will say go ahead(some how i didn't see this). Even you want to cut it, can you just leave some hair for the tree? Why must make it botak?

I was visited Singapore once, the best thing that I really like is they do plant tree every where (at least all the place that i visit in singapore, i saw a well plan of tree plant). After some thought, I guess below is the reason why they do this:

    1) No need hire ppl to sweep Withered leaf
    2) The air is too fresh, it is dangerous for ppl
    3) The color of the leaf make the scene look worst
    4) They are too free?
    5) Too much money?

I just don't understand why it happen. If you know the reason, may be you can tell me. Thanks ya...

Err...any neighbours of Orchi knows...Orchi gotta a common love n enemy only...plants n MPSJ respectively...what the fork are those guys sitting on their big n ugly butts thinking about the whole freaking day at the office?

Ahem...gotta not enough pot holes to patch...not enough flower bed to destroy n replant...not enough shiitty drains to clear...not enough foodcourts to erect...not got enough filthy kopitiams to shut down...???

Then they go about cutting the piece se cake into awarding more smaller NON-budgeted contracts to cut down more n more lovely trees in USJ/SJ...

Well, what can I say? It's either MPSJ are so free that they need to do something stupid immediately or they themselves are darn "STUPID".

Tree trimming is a necessity when they post a danger of being blown down by strong winds. This happened over the last 2 years. Trees trimmed will regrow. We need to be patient. Recently we had very strong winds and heavy rain (remember on Sunday right after the F1 races at Sepang?). If those trees were having their full foliage, I am sure some would have been blown down - and caused some damage. I for one am glad MPSJ had been proactive in trimming the trees.

By the way, Singapore also trim their trees.

I don't call that as trimming as none of the tree was left with one "hair".

And I don't think MPSJ are stupid as the saying goes "ada project barulah ada $$$$$" flowing.

Err...dear Chang...points taken...but hey without those taller full foliage trees acting as wind breakers...there is the greater possible danger of the house roofs being blown off instead...

Ahem...trimming is fine...but not to the extent of BOTAK...!?

Actually I agree with the tree trimming but I fully disagree with the way they left the twigs and leaves covering one of the lanes the next day. It could pose more danger to the motorists expecially those who are cycling or riding motorcycles. They really should clean up the leaves immediately after the trimming and not leaving it until the next day.

ps: i also pass by the road everyday and used to enjoy the greenery very much

Just wanna know that trimming must become BOTAK? Not even ONE leave????emmm.......

As I said, if it may cause danger, then they can so-called "TRIM" (I dun think they are trimming now), but BOTAK cannot be accepted. However, it just my opinion.

by the way, I know Singapore trim tree also, but then, do they trim until BOTAK also? Just curious, I dun have good knowledge...LOL

I strongly DISAGREE with the ways with which MPSJ or its contractors have been murdering the trees. First of all they should plant the correct type of trees that may not have overgrown branches easily, or they should not have planted the trees right at the edge of the roads. Secondly, the way they so call trim is to make the trees BARE!

Branch trimming is necessary, but do it more professionally.

The other point is that they often uproot those shrubs (in no way obstructing the view of road users, motorists and pedestrains included) when they just start to look nice, and then plant at the same place some other plants. Pure waste of public fund! While on this, some of the plants they love to keep are those just too close to traffic lights, corners, junctions etc posing vision obstruction to motorists. THIS they dont care and leave these plants there!! What logic of landscapping!!

Err...Voter is right...Orchi thinks...assuming trimming a tree...the contractor would need to be well equipped for the occasion...to reach for those higher n more difficult spots to go about the trimming works...which would certainly mean more time...n more costs..

So which is more easier n faster...would be to chop the whole bunch of branches off right above the main trunks of the trees...Voila!...end of the story!...habis cerita!... ...who gives a hoot?

    Dear Youngboyguy,

Your comment 5) is wrong. It is not too much money. It is not enough money - for some people. So they go around thinking of **** like this to earn some extra income. I don't think it is uncommon to find employees trying to take advantage of their employers, ie make some extra income from their employers.

By the way, you, me & everyone else living & paying assessment & other fees are the real employers. MPSJ, councillors, enforcement officers etc are merely our employees. So, in effect, it is a preogative that they should respect or needs & decision.

If they are useless or work without the approval of us, the employers, sack them & find better ones.
