    Road Tax Sticker

Maybe this has been discussed before i joined the forum, but how do you guys get the sticker off your windscreen without any marks? Do you just scrape it off tediously or is there a liquid i can purchase to make the process easier? I will be renewing my road tax soon and then this time, there would be 2 old road tax stickers stuck to my car and it's really starting to take up a lot of windscreen space.

Until today, i still can't believe that we are using such a silly technology.

    All U have to do:

use a strong light bulb..put it near the sticker, on the outside of the glass..
then.after a few minutes..carefully lift the sticker at the corner..
it shud peel off wzout tearing.

    CHeers!

try using the trusty WD-40. Spray and wait a bit then the gum should loosen. Or you can go to Ace Hardware and get Goo Gone - liquid form and made from citrus .. I always use this one for sticker gunk..sure to soften and can then be removed easily!

or... before you stick it (the road tax sticker) to the windscreen, go pay a visit to your neighborhood car tint shop... they will stick the road tax to a piece of clear plastic sheet ~ then stick the road tax to your windscreen...

I have tinted my windscreen. When i removed my old Road Tax Sticker, it was torn and the hologram part of the Sticker cannot be removed. I cannot scrape, use WD40 or any alcohol to remove it coz it will damage the tint. Any of you have idea how to remove that residue part ???

the problem is, if you're using tinted windows, you're not supposed to stick anything with adhesive glue on it else it'll damage the tint.

you can try using cooking oil as it worked removing chewing gum from my clothes before.

like i said earlier... best way to avoid the gunk from the stickers,... no wd40, no citrus, no hot lamp, no cooking oil - nada.

just visit your neighborhood tint shop.... 5 minutes job - once or twice a year!

This is a little out of the box.

When you tint your car, just get them to leave a hole the size of the car sticker. Paste it there, peal it off with care, love and tenderness ...

Orchi, you have got a brilliant idea there. They cannot stop us from using the old roadtax sticker as sun shield

    Re: Road Tax Sticker

Talking about this roadtax thingi, my 6 months old sticker is almost blank. I notice that all the roadtax issued at the RTD in Klang have this problem. Those renewed at the post office do not have this problem.

Firefly remember reading somewhere it's an offence. anyone can clarify.

Step 1. Break your windshield. Claim insurance, get new windshield.
Step 2. Claim new free tinting from tint company (its in their guarantee)

    Cheaper than buying new car.
me, no don't cheat me .. i'll report you man ..
