Proton Cars Prices UP!?
Ahem...it was reported in the ChinaPress yesterday...there could be a sharp rise upto RM9000 each...on all Proton models...?

Re: Proton Cars Prices UP!?
yes plse increase..lets see who buys...but based on the intreview of proton ceo by star..he says there will be a gradual decrease of price due to competition but the decrease will be small. He did say that it will be the year of consumers as there will be much more choices in terms of models etc...more choice more competition..price will go down...don't think this increase will happen...

Re: Proton Cars Prices UP!?
Let's see whether they can survice in an open market. Government shud open up the market. Not favoring the crony group! I sense a lot of pride going on in that CEO's interview. I remembered some time ago (last year I think) he made the statement that "had the Government didn't constraint them Proton would have increased the price!"

Re: Proton Cars Prices UP!?
I felt compelled to bring this up after what I've witnessed:
Date & Time: 4th Jan'05 @ 2:35pm
Location: Along SS14/8
I saw 4 brand new Wajas driven by the delivery guys (no registered license plate but those hanging from the car boot types) speeding along the said road. On this road there are 2 speed bumps, first one right after the turn of from the main road along Summit and the second infront of the primary school. 3 of the 4 speed along without slowing down their wajas and guess what I heard after they hit the first road bump?
I always wondered why my waja has that constant annoying noise coming from the back suspension, guess I know why now
My kudos for the last driver, at least he/she realised the wajas are not theirs to drive as they wish but as a custodian they are care taker and ensure goods delivered at good condition.
Also, kids are back in school, imagine if one of the wajas hit a kid waiting for his/her ride home!?!? Isn't it bad enough some time ago an accident involved a bus the last time? I can only think of a few delivery points why those guys uses the road here, there are at least 4 such showroom in subang area that might be waiting for the car delivery. These guys, coming from the factory/storage area from Shah Alam might most probably use this road as a shortcut, if they don't know any better the risk involving the kid while racing on this road, then please DON'T use this road for your delivery. STAY on the main road!
I have lost my respect for the car brand, despite their fantastic strategy to consolidate and acquiring strategic partnership, their delivery to customer expectation is not what it should have been. Remember: Total Customer Experience, TCE. Hello?!?!?!

Hopefully, the perodua cars also. So that it is more expensive and deserving people buys it. Rather than the crazy drivers

Re: Proton Cars Prices UP!?
The waja part... I think that is how they test the suspensions la.... hahaha
As for the price hike... I think the prices of the imported cars will go higher than expected, that's why they can increase the price.

Re: Proton Cars Prices UP!?
Talking about that, my friend service his alignment on his waja like every 2 weeks!
Change car lar... Sell all the proton cars... buy Toyota... every month Rm788 (see the star today) or Honda CRV at 1.88%

Re: Proton Cars Prices UP!?
Now that is a welcome news. Personally, I think Proton should just close down and spare everyone the trouble with their buatan malaysia slogan and other arrogant posturing. It is because of proton, we are having to pay thru our noses to get quality car in malaysia.
God's know how many road fatalities are due to these unsafe cars out there. For me, Malaysia Boleh tapi proton tak nak!
p.s. maybe we can start a kempen proton tak nak with a smash up proton car as a symbol.
HEAVEN IS SO REAL

Waja? Once bitten twice shy. An ex-owner of waja. Gave me lots of problem. My autowindow just decide to goes kaput every three month. And it cost a bomb to get it fix. To add salt to that, the body is so soft like coke's can and got dented easily. A kancil once gave me my waja a soft kiss and my whole bumper a gonna. If Proton decides to increase the price, let them be. Consumers can just switch easily.

Malaysian-made cars lose 77 per cent of value in three years in the UK
The Independent, London
New cars lose 75% of value in three years By Peter Woodman
06 January 2005
Some new cars could lose three-quarters of their value within three years, Which? magazine says today. It said even the least-depreciating models will shed about half their value.
Two vehicles - the Perodua Kenari EZi 1.0 and the Proton Wira 1.5 LXi - will lose 77 per cent of value over three years. Other vehicles losing around three-quarters of their value include the Nissan Primera 1.8 SX and the Suzuki Alto 1.1 GL.
One of the vehicles to hold its value best is the BMW 1 Series 116i SE, which is expected to lose only 49 per cent of its value over three years - the same figure as the Mercedes-Benz C Class C180 SE Sports in the large car sector. The Mini Cooper 1.6 is the best value-retaining supermini, depreciating by only 50 per cent over three years.
The editor of Which?, Malcolm Coles said: "Some cars lose value hand over fist. If you're buying a new car, look at the amount you're going to lose in hard cash. Can you really afford to throw away that much money?
"It can be worth paying up front for a more desirable car that holds its value well. Buying a cheaper car that depreciates rapidly is a false economy."

Re: Proton Cars Prices UP!?
Car prices up! It's time we all relax ourselves at every starting of a new year. It's a normal new year phenomena since umpteen years ago that the people of this country had never ceased to be stirred by car prices. Better still that car prices are high so we can refrain from rushing to buy for the believe that we can gain from car price manipulation. Why play ourselves into the game where only car dealers and the government gain? What's so great about a new car and how new is a new car tomorrow when we bought it today? They are just a car no matter how best they are, they need us to look after them for them to look after us! Old cars, new cars, what's important is they work well. Is buying new car every now and then is more economical and beneficial than keeping your car in good maintenance? Before you trade in your car for new, consider how much you are going to lose the money to trade in than to maintain it for one whole year.
Next election I will vote for the government that can wipe out the ego from the faces of national cars suckers!!!!
