Indah Water Bill

Hi .. I read somewhere in this forum (if I am not wrong) that we do not have to pay the Indah Water for the sewage charges of Rm8 per month. Can any one verify this, please.

One thing for sure - that if there is no one staying at the premise (the water meter is not running), then the Indah Water shall waive the billings. However, the premise owner will have to write in officially to them

Since moving into my house in SS18, I have not received any indah water bills..the former owner did'nt pass any bills to me either...can someone tell me whether subang jaya/usj residents are subjected to indah water chargers?
if yes since when?

I had paid my Indah water bill half yearly. Since 97.

After I bought the house, I made a copy of the S&P and send it to Indah Water. They change the owner name and send me the bill.

Nothing is free. You might not get the bill now but it will be accumulated and send to u soon

ksj_cool - ss18 is not spared, I have been paying them for a long time. Like franky said, you may not get it now but they will accumulate the charges.

Indah water is a utility bill and depends on how much water you flush into yr toilet and drainage...thats why MPSJ dosent want us to have sink outlet to direct to the drain By the way who is liable for the indah water bill the tenant of the landlord...to me it is the tenant because it is utilty bill unlike quit rent and assessment which are to borne by landlord...am i right?

ksj cool - it depends very much on the initial agreement between you and the tenant.

in my case, i get the tenant to pay.

sorry a bit side track - when my tenant left the premise, he left behind the unpaid bills as well amounted to more than RM1300. Luckily I managed to get him to pay after delaying for a few weeks. I told him that I will make a police report & fax the report to his office.

Initially, IWK bill was linked to the VOLUME of water consumed. This is very logical because the more water used means the more waste-water to clean.

However, DO NOT take this as a reason for MPSJ's insistence that all water outlets go to the sewerage system. Take one step back and THINK - regardless if you flush the water down the external drains, if IWK billing is linked to water consumption (metered at the input infront of your house), the volume used is the same, no matter how you dispose of the waste-water. There is no compulsion for directing waste-water to the sewerage system to benefit MPSJ. Are you thinking that we have an outlet meter to the sewerage system? That is hilarious. I am always amazed how people come up with their reasoning regarding bureucratic rules.

By the way, the need to direct all waste-water to the sewer is an INTERNATIONAL requirement, not something cooked up by our municipality or IWK to make more money from you. The simple reason is that we should not pollute the open waterways with our waste-water. I wonder if you encourage your kids to poo-poo or wee-wee into the open drains around your house?

And by the way, IWK did away with the tie-up to water consumption a long time ago and came up with their "standard" rates according to the types of premise. This I think is ridiculous - i much prefer the direct link to our input water meter because it makes sense that people who use more water needs to pay more to clean the waste.

I received IWK RED bill recently for last year. If the charges is based on water consumption is better, because my monthly water consumption is less than 10 cu.m.

Ya.....I also haven't pay......Need to pay or Not..... I saw online newspaper (GuanMing), Perak people didn't pay and won in judgement at court... NEED TO PAY OR NOT???????

i jsut got a pembetungan bill from indah water for RM8x6=RM48 bill for 1st half of 2007?. what is that?.

What does the "assessment rate" that we pay cover? I don't know much as these matters but I feel that Indah water should collect its rates from MPSJ since part of the assessment rate should cover this charges.

Please correct me as I am totally blur on this.
