Streamyx Connection Dropped intermittently.

My streamyx connection dropped intermittently. Does anyone here experience the same thing? I've set the modem to "Auto reconnect when ADSL link down", but sometime it will not reconnect back. Sometime I've to power off and on the modem one or few times to get connected.

could you check your current SNR (signal to noise ratio) in your router/modem?
a low SNR could cause the intermittent drops you're experiencing.

low SNR could be caused by
1) bad wiring/loose wiring connection
2) insufficient shielding from the elements or electromagnetic fields
3) wiring splits/parallel lines before the wire reaches router/modem end.

Thanks Jand, for the reply. I only can see ATM, PPP and TCP status on my modem router. How do I check the signal to noise ratio? Do u know any tools that I can download from the net to check it? I'm appreciate your help.

i'm not sure there is a software for that...
but the SNR can usually be seen on the modem.
perhaps you need to look deeper into your modem settings.
