Does anyone knows the best place where one can relax listening to some live band ? the place also should not be expensive

What type of music?

The Bar1 in Summit is advertising beer fr 0.05 but think its a gimmick. Hotel pubs are hardly cheap.

Anyway always have Filipino bands there but mostly empty.

Go down to Tristano's at USJ 9. Good environment, pool and darts. Drinks are reasonably priced, beer@ 7.50/mug, scotch @ 200/bottle. ice water free all night long. forget 'pick-ups'. it's what we call a gay joint. it can mean both things! I've noticed guys, after drinking for a solid 3 hours or more go silent when a woman walks in. the smirk starts to appear when she actually walks straight to him. when she's next to him, he feels DAMN LUCKY!! then she pops the million dollar question, "Mau beli kacangkah. Satu peket dua ringgit. banyak sedap, bikin rumah!!"

they have a 3 piece band with accompanying piano. good mix of songs. you should like it.

Ramses is not bad too. currently Bala of the Bala & The Blitz band jams there on weekends. the blitz have left him, i think. good repertoire of music. beer @ 9/mug, scotch @ 240/bottle. forget about pick-up unless you ARE interested in poofters aka transvesites. they are generally called GRO's, Gay Relationship Officer's.

the rest of the outlets in USJ 9 also got band one! They are the 'band' of girls who are after you for free drinks!! your beer costs you 8/mug. theirs costs 14/mug. go figure

Also..the cowbow joint..The Barn in USJ 11..is also available wz live music, but the music is a bit too loud for my old ears!
