Small matter but worth mentioning ...

I hope it will generate more positive force, if we can share all those little positive stuff happened around us.

This evening while using a u-turn before first NPE toll from Sunway, I saw this one traffic policeman standing at the U-turn entrance directing those cars that 'successfully cut queue' to get off the u-turn lane.

Puzzle at first but later I realised what a good gesture from his act, rather than issuing summons and caused massive havoc, he prefer to educate those errant driver in a more humane way, bcos after these drivers were chased away from the U-turn lane, they will be forced to pay toll and if they still want to make a U-turn then that will be RM1.60x2 and they were forced to drive a longer distance too.

I may sound naive, but I think this method is far better than jump out of the bush or hiding behind a tree tactic.

some places are call the 'cari makan' places. police, usually low ranking, hungry looking ones, will hide somewhere waiting for his prey! i was caught a few times like this and i insisted on a summon, never got one. he was not there to issue summons, just want to cari makan!

    the usual cari makan place:

subang jaya, the road between subang parade and carefour. no u turn at the junction at the end facing the KTM..

It is reassuring that there are at least some police officers who address real issues and carry their badge with pride rather than being driven by unfettered greed.

I have observed so many awful things recently involving the police like my story in the thread below, so any so any good news that could perhaps save us from complete disillusionment.

I dont feel the necessity of the police force manning these bottlenecks or any other trouble spots. If we The Malaysian Drivers all follow simple rules by not overtaking, jumping lanes, overtaking from the left, crossing double lines and what have you ,I think driving anyway would be more enjoyable stressless, pleasant and fast.

Anyway we can except the fact that nothing will change our mindset. We are all used to this kiasu style of driving, always must get to the front. We dont practise common courtsey.

    Happy driving.

Alexius, how true! I absolutely agree with you. Our materialistic world has bred too many arrogant and self-centred people with the omnipotent single letter in the alphabet: I.

Indeed. As I have repeated in a couple of threads, it is not only the drivers; we have a traffic system which, frankly, encourages reckless and relentless driving. The combined deteriorating impact of bad signages, illogical, dangerous and/or inconsistent road markings, traffic lights which work 4 days out of 7 and highways which are highways by name only; should not be underestimated.

Just a simple little example taken from the Taipan-USJ11 area. There are a couple of T-junctions there, where the road ending in the junction has three lanes, one leading left and two leading right. The two lanes leading right merge to one lane IN THE MIDDLE OF THE JUNCTION. Even the carefullest of drivers would be forced into a situation where the concentration has to be split between negotiating a turn and performing a lane-change at the same time.

How on earth are we going to create confidence in a traffic system which seems designed to create as much accidents as possible?
    See you...
