It is really hard to put into words just what I want to say at this moment of sudden loss of my mother, Grace George 69 in Singapore!
It is really not easy to receive a call from Aunties there at 1.30 a.m. January 5th telling me that she is "really bad" and half an hour later saying she is gone!
I was shocked because there was no indication prior to this to me, of her been unwell!
As the only child, I wanted to spend the last moments with her which I feel, was robbed from me, just like many other things.
But, though broken in spirit, lost at words and feeling alone - I am really amazed, grateful to GOD and thankful at the hundreds of cards, flowers, well wishing, SMS, that were sent to me and to the funeral home in Singapore by members of the Malaysian public, from Subang and Subang Jaya, brother Jeff Ooi and the EdTeam of usj.com.my and fellow contributers in the usj.com.my web forum both here, Screenshots bloggers and in Malaysiakini - many, I do not know, but all who joined in spirit and supported me, as I faced this sudden loss!
My wife Sharmila, children, Tabitha, Reuel, Annemarie, Talitha and I are really thankful to all of you for this kind support.
I will be seeking advice from my Pastor the Rev. Canon Eddie Ong of St. Paul's Church Petaling Jaya for dates for a memorial service for my late mother and would update you all on this in this forum.
Brothers/Sisters - We would be grateful if we could have your presence during that service and the light Tea that follows.
Praise God! And again Thank You!

As was her wish (I am told)my mother was laid to rest yesterday in Singapore where she, as the eldest had gone at a tender age of 15 in the early 50s to pursue nursing to support her sibbings of 10 in Sungei Petani, Kedah - all of whom, she saw through financially, till marriage!
She was indeed a good daughter to her parents the late George Philip of Taiping and Sungei Petani, Kedah, a well respected Headmaster and mother Madam Thangama George, a sacrificial sister to all her fellow sibbings!
She won many a Singapore Government Ministry of Health Awards, had a excellent career and retired as a Senior Nursing Officer at Alexandra Hospital.
She passed on at age 69.
