To catch a musang? A good trap indeed!

A big cage trap (pls see pix) belonging to MPSJ is with me. It is our SJ community property. Any SJ resident can borrow this, use it and then pass it along to the next neighbour in need. cage.jpg

I have called MPSJ 3 times to return the cage or I can even go there myself. BUT seemingly, they dont want it anymore! APA?

A Neighbor had successfully used it to trap a free ranging musang frolicking in his attic (above his m-bedroom!) Dont worry, the trapped free ranging musang was then successfully relocated to the Shah Alam Forest reserves.

Anyone in need please PM me but on the one condition that you come collect from me, use it, keep it and then pass it on to the next neighbor in need. Same rule applies.

Simple but effective with the right bait, pisang emas.

p/s Lagi 1, PLEASE do not hand the trapped musang to any 'authorities'or strangers...it will surely be sold and ended up in a cooking pot...

It is an oversize rat trap. I've seen it in a hardware shop.

No musang where I stay but plenty of pesky shrews.

Musangs are also civet cats. They love to hide in your attic (under the roof). It is not unique to Malaysia... similar type of wild animal also are known to hide in the attics of houses in Australia and other countries.

I borrowed a much bigger cage trap one time from a friend and caught a large civet cat in my house compound. It was viscious and hissed at me when I went near the cage. That day I planned to call the wildlife department to transport and release it in the jungle but I got a call from home mid-morning that same day that it escaped - the animal is quite intelligent - it managed to find a weak spot in the cage netting, pulled aside the netting and escaped.
