Yes... they are innovative in small small details.
Nowadays if I go elsewhere, I no longer interested on the popular tourism spots. I like to observe the small little things in others' everyday life be it in business outlet, individual or even government office.
You know when flight passengers queue to go thru the airport security check before entering the boarding gate, they have to take a plastic container to put their boots, leather belt that contain metal buckle, wallet with coins, hand phone/laptop, etc into the plastic container. I noticed major airports in Europe and also the so-called best airport in the world (Singapore Changi), the security staff at these airports will have to stack the containers (around 4-5) together manually after the passengers collected their belongings.
In the domestic terminal of Haneda airport, they have an automatic mechanism (I think it works on pneumatic) that will move up to the same level of the conveyor belt when the stack of plastic container reaches certain weight. I found this is really innovative but unfortunately that area is not for picture-taking..
