Where to buy cotton to stuff pillows?

    Hi...

CNY being around the corner and we were doing some springcleaning. There were some pillows which we would like to replace the cotton in it...

Does anyone knows of any shop around Subang Jaya/PJ that sells cotton?

    Appreciate the help...TQ.

The pillow stuffing is actually not cotton. Whatever cotton is actually used in manufacture of thread and cloth. The pillow stuffing we use are the cheaper kapok which is like cotton but not cotton. Have you seen the kapok tree?

I think its more of synthetic polyester mix stuff in abundance.
I always buy Dunlopillo Latex pillow, personally most preferred.

We used to do the same for parents as they preferred cotton as the filler.
There were 2 shops in Malacca that we can buy cotton in bulk (along the Jalan Bunga Raya street) but they are not selling cotton anymore, they sell items that tourists are interested now. Btw, the cotton that we bought to filll the pillows was cotton, not kapok as claimed by someone.

Unless you have specific reasons, maybe is good to use other filler because cotton is fluffy and can be a source of allergy. We did a search last time of the different filler materials like synthetic fibre, latex, goose feather and the so-called high-tech memory foam. I found pillows filled with synthetic fibre is the best especially the ones filled with down fibre.

Synthetic fibre is designed to be hypoallergic and since it is synthetic, it is also antimicrobial. The down fiber is very soft and lightweight, so it easily molds to the perfect loft and shape. Although the fiber is soft but some branded producers manage to produce them with the right density to provide a good balance between comfort and support/firmness. You can find down fiber pillow from Parkson... look for the Japanese or US brands for premium quality.

I don’t recommended latex as the latex pillow is just too firm and hard, it is heavy and hot too ..

Absolutely untrue from my POV. I've been using that same product for the past 30 years (of course I replace when due) and sleep perfectly. The worst is some of those provided at some hotels. My sleep is never the same. I won't deny its personal preference.

Have you tried synthetic fibre pillow before ???

I had tried latex pillow, I know the difference and hence I concluded latex pillow is harder, heavier and hotter compares to synthetic fibre pillow.

I can only conclude, to each his own, buy what you feel suit you and have a most comfortable sleep.
I won't be surprised if there's more pillow talk one thing lead to another. This pillow, that pillow contour isn't right. Cheers!
