The kangaroo infested land and the kingdom land where kangaroo ancestors were exiled from are just toooo lenient to visa defaulters..

Fyi, everyone in this planet need a visa to go PRC except ***. If you are not in this *** category, visa is required.

But generally citizens of most countries....

    (1) you don't need a visa if you are holidaying in Hong Kong for less than 90 days and not visiting mainland China.

    (2) you are already in Hong Kong or Macao and joins a tourist group organized by a travel agency, which is registered in Hong Kong or Macao, for a visit to the Pearl River Delta region (including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Zhaoqing and Huizhou) and your stay is no more than xyz days.

I knew one fella who told me his angmoh colleague's faith who tried her luck in PRC. This angmoh lady abused (2) and overstayed to work in a highly-paid white collar job for 2 months in PRC.

Gosh, I don't want to reveal the price she paid for that "mistake"....

p/s : If one overstays the visa for a significant period, usually over one month, the defaulter might be put into a detention camp for 5 to 15 days and repatriated. The defaulter will be blacklisted, which will affect his/her future re-entry to China, and likely be prohibited from entering the country for 10 years. In addition to this, it might also influence one's visa application for visiting other countries.

I just double checked with a friend, some info needs to be corrected:-

    Yes, you can apply On-Line.

The 'interview' is done at random in Oz Airports Rooms & they will pick on the singles, 20s year old and those travelling alone.

Such 'interview' only started last month.

    Questions eg
    why are you here?
    Holidays where?
    Stay where?
    Friends' addresses, contacts no.
How much $$$ you have etc etc will be asked.
If you can not answer in details, you take the next plane out.

But you are not spare if you follow a Group Tour. The above tourists will still be check at random & Tour Leader details are all taken in case any of his entourage is found to be missing. Yes, tourists from such Tour also disappeared.

Happened in Sydney and Melbourne airports.

Cherry Picking at AUS minimum wage.....Sure Boh? Jumping flying plane or frying pan into the fire.....Think before you leapt with parachute into Down Under.

Malaysian journalist Saiful Hasam who went undercover to expose exploitation in Victoria Secret fruit picking industry said workers were “brainwashed” with religion and trapped in debt to keep them on farms.
Fruit pickers, often working illegally, were lured to Australia with promises of high incomes of Janji Chapatti.. When they arrived, they were paid a pittance, kept in overcrowded homes with exorbitant rent and effectively trapped in debt bondage system

The report’s other author Laurie Berg said the study also showed conditions that might constitute criminal forced labour where cherry pickers had their passports confiscated; were required to pay upfront “deposits” of up to $1,000 to secure a job; and had been asked to pay money back in cash after receiving their wages.
It was particularly prevalent in food services and “especially severe” in fruit-and-vegetable picking. http://www.scmp.com/news/asia/austra...mum-wage-study

There are even more collections of jumping the planes to Down Under to North America where more horror stories to be cooked by me coming soon to the USJ.com near you. As a preview, the going rate was USD50,000 to smuggled you from China to US or UK where you dun jump the plane. You are transported via boats, cargo trains or trucks by Jason Secondhand and sometimes you swim across the border from Niagara Fall. http://www.nytimes.com/1989/01/06/ny...-in-river.html

so, look before you leap or rather read before you jump plane

For those who walked through the immigration gate as aliens it is custom for the officers to profile the usual suspects from Ah Beng to Osama sama usual suspects. 1 look at you, they sized you up with 10 Questions or simply biz or pleasures?

For me because I am Olde Mean Chef, Aussie custom would asked " Biz or Pleasures? iSayman, going to Melbourne Cup where I going to see personally whether my Zinglicious horse will lift the cup. Otherwise, I will cook it as dinner. BTW, lay your bet as my trainer and jockey said it is a sure win against 20 over donkeys in the 3200 meters race. Otherwise, they will have just a hot dog for dinner instead of Outback juicy prime rib steak.

Wanna jump aeroplane, do it at the right place.

I met people who jumped aeroplane in the land of rising sun in the 90s. I can spot them easily among all the people in the subway without even talking to them.

In Japan, picking fruits won't make your wallet thick (although the rural area need people in the agro industry also). It's the kind of dirty laborious/semi-skills jobs that japan was in serious shortage in the 90s due to their economy boom notably the construction sector.

Shinjuku construction sites and Yokohama China town are the places you can see them waiting to pick up by the local "introducer". Depend on skills level, daily wage is around 8000 to 15,000 yen (about USD80 to USD150). Convert to ringgit is around RM250 to RM450 per day at that time. So, if one didn't get ill, didn’t spend the money at pachinko, then one can have good savings after 2-3 years.

The construction frenzy was long over and the broken bubbles are still all over there. The japs are not worried you guy from Ipoh or jinjang wanna jump aeroplane because unlikely you can get a job in this sector anymore.

Now, you guys got BIG competitors from mainland if you think you can find a job in the service industry – the industry which is now seriously short of manpower due to the boom in tourism. Everywhere you go (departmental store, hotel, restaurant) especially in the outskirt areas where tourism places located, you can see the mainland Chinese workers. They speak fluent Japanese, they look more like Japanese than you china pendatang from SEA and more importantly, many of them are working there legally. The staff who handle my VAT refund at the posh Daimaru is a PRC student who got this full time job during her semester break !!

So, those young fellas from here who wanna earn extra - go learn Nihongo and work in Nippon. Much better pay and much better life than picking blardy cherries in the middle of no where surrounded by fruit fries and kangaroo...

I think Japanese visa does not come easily.

When you apply, there are a few conditions, one of them is they want to look at your Bank Account and see if it is healthy, no?

    Yes, last time...

For employee, employement confirmation letter from employer is required. Bank accounts statement is not necessary if they are happy with your job and organization in Malaysia. For self-employed or businessman, bank accounts statement is required when applying visa.

Since 2013, Japan has abolished the requirement of visa for Malaysian Nationals...

That ipoh fella can go Japan anytime now, no visa is required.

Last time, those who jumped aeroplane need to have some money in the bank .. and they joined a group tour departing from Singapore. They need to show return tickets also ..

Come on... nothing is easy. Effort and "capital" is needed to earn more future money .... unless you wanna pick cherry in a fruit flies infested farm down under...

Many years ago, Scientists used SIT to control flies, mosquitos, fruit flies etc here.

The SIT (Sterile Insect Technique) is a method of biological insect control, whereby overwhelming numbers of sterile insects are released into the wild. The released insects are preferably male, as this is more cost-effective and the females may in some situations cause damage by laying eggs in the crop, or, in the case of mosquitoes, taking blood from humans. The sterile males compete with wild males to mate with the females. Females that mate with a sterile male produce no offspring, thus reducing the next generation's population. Sterile insects are not self-replicating and, therefore, cannot become established in the environment. Repeated release of sterile males over low population densities can further reduce and in cases of isolation eliminate pest populations, although cost-effective control with dense target populations is subjected to population suppression prior to the release of the sterile males.

Now we have less flies, mosquitos, fruit flies in most areas.

Also Dung Beetles were introduced here and these beetles feed partly or exclusively on dung which are source breeding chambers for flies etc.

    Scientists do wonder.

P/S...if you plant say Bitter Gourd here, you do not have to cover them with papers like in Malaysia because fruit flies are not common any more
