A closed friend had appendicitis and he went to a gahman hospital in KK called Queen Elizabeth Hospital for operation.

A Doctor in that hospital struck his pointer finger into his ass, moved it a bit & he cried out in great pain and that was it, confirmed acute appendicitis.

No blood test, no urine test, no x-ray, no CT scan, no surgeon, like yours.

He came out flying 2 days later.

    No bill...all free

I am now at a cafe in that hospital... I can see the "clients" are getting lesser.

Talk about the extra tests/scans that doctor do to patients, I guess this is progress bring by medical advancement. Neccessary or not, is subjective.

It is simple, if you don't know, you won't do BUT if you know, chances are you will allow the doctors to do (provided you can handle the bill).

Last time (15-20 years ago), no such thing of testing for genetic disorder during early pregenancy but it is quite standard now for those who are willing to pay. I mentioned about Thomson medical lab in Singapore in other thread. This is the 1st lab in this region that is capable to perform the procedures and lab test to check the possibility of chromosome that cause down syndrome.

This test for sure is not done in public hospital.

Actually, rectal examination was a standard quick test for acute appendicitis. Be assured that the surgeon also referred to other symptoms such as peritonitis, white blood cell count.
It may interest you that some appendicitis attacks do not present with right abdominal sensitivity (the classic symptom)

Meanwhile MY hospitals are recycling single-use devices to save money as the budget is insufficient probably due to allocation to build Bangladash hospital.

There was a cut of RM1 billion last year. This potong saga budget poses medical implications and risks of reusing single-use devices include cross-infection of blood-borne diseases according to the University of Nottingham.

Patient safety is also threatened by device malfunction and breakage linked to reuse, for which the devices are not designed.

It is like asking the patients to reuse condoms for contraception but run into risk of STD infection. . WTF

Bangga with this Malusial medical practice where charity does not being practiced right at home in Malaysia 1st?

The reply by Health Ministry did not state it is fake..... The MOH view seriously this allegation which was perhaps made with the intention to sensationalise the matter, whereby the report quoted an unnamed source, suggesting that MOH hospitals are compromising on patient safety.

(Patient safety is also threatened by device malfunction and breakage linked to reuse, for which the devices are not designed.) This was posted with the link earlier

And for sure, all hospitals have had been facing budget allocation cuts despite seeing more patients since 2 years ago. Patients are no longer given 3 months supply of drugs for chronic cases but were asked to come back fortnightly just to get thier supplies to the pharmacies.

BTW, whenever I go to my barber shop, they never reuse the blade that shave my hair .....Each time the disposable blade was thrown into the thrash can.

Simpletons are the majority in a society, that's why fake news or whatever "news" can propagate.
