I watched the movie with my family Sunday night.

Knowing the background on the enmity between the Irish and British make watching this movie more interesting.

In the early 90s, the tension was still there.

Every train station in Northern Ireland and airports in NI and Scotland, you will hear continuous PA announcement that unattended luggage will be removed. Before entering the pub, the security/bouncer will do body-search. They also checked the hand-carried bags.

It was a unique clubbing experience......

If you have drank Irish stout the local ones would taste like bitter Chinese herbal medicine.

The Guinness Stout in Irish pub is mainly Guinness Draught. This draught is the same with the Guinness Draught in Malaysia as they follow the global recipe, the taste is the same.

The Guinness Stout here is not a Draught, I think it is called Foreign Extra Stout. This locally brewed stout is more bitter than the draught because the level of alcohol is slightly higher (5.5%) and the ingredients they used (barley and hops) are more prominent in flavour.
