Due to competition more brands are offering a five year manufacturer's warranty. BMW is one of them but its rival Mercedes is giving only four years.

The competition also prompts them to offer good discount to those who purchase their vehicle as "company vehicle".

    The employers will pay :
    - a standard sum as annual maintenance allowance
    - monthly instalments

    The eligible employee will :
    - search for car that meet his/her entitlement of monthly instalment
    - register the vehicle under his/her name.
    - all other costs like insurance premium, accident repair, etc are the employee's responsibility

I was told the staff normally can get around 15% of discount from continental OEM. For example, they can get a RM220k BMW at about RM190k. The discount helps them to stretch their monthly instalments to buy car in this price range.

I think this is one of the main reasons the continental manufacturers are bringing in a lot of the entry level 3 cylinders cars.

    BMW X2.

This is the fully loaded one. This model is not here.

But there is a mid-spec one in the showroom. It is 2.0L, 4 cylinder, turbocharged. Blue colour @ RM 340k.

This model is based on the X1 platform. Even the interior look the same, but it is 3" shorter and rides lower. Of course it is also sportier.

The Volvo XC40 is probably a better deal. At least it is a completely new model on a brand new platform.

Lets see what is the price when it gets here. And also, which variant?

Just noticed the above price tag can't even buy half of a handbag.

I mean the famous pink croco one..

I like history, especially on the French Revolution when Marie Antoinette was guillotined.

Apparently RM 350 will buy you a used Hermes paper bag (not the famous orange box)

I am not sure where to post the following so I will tumpang your thread.

My neighbour somewhere here in London showed me his Tesla X model 2100d, a driverless car.

    red2a

It is a car full of surprises and I suppose it takes a while to adjust to this modern technology and be comfortable with it.

He even offered me a test drive which I politely declined.
