Good Chinese and Peranakan Food in Melaka ?

Any recommendations ?

Chicken rice balls, cendol, dim sum etc ? Bringing my kids for 3d2n study cum exploration of Melaka next week. Any recommendations appreciated since in our last visit, we basically ate in the shopping malls as the kids were more fascinated by McD etc ....

I heard the Portugese Settlement is a tourist trap these days, so any suggestions for Portugese food is welcomed My last trip there was in 1980s .... cannot remember anything now ....

All these chicken rice balls, cendol, etc are not Chinese food. They are mutated neither-here-nor-there kind of food... Also, not sure whether there is such thing call "peranakan food"..

Next time, when you/your family go to malacca and stay around melaka raya area, try this decent and reasonable eatery, Bei Zhan (北栈)

It was always a trap for tourists and locals. It is still a trap for tourists...

The food is not authentic, really don't know whether is eastern or western cuisine, and freaking overpriced. Also, the ambienc sucks..
