How to deal with ignorant dog owner? Please help!

Hi, first of all i need to say that i have nothing against dogs. Im staying at usj13 where neighbors keeping dogs are very common. But there is one particular neighbor who has gone off limits. This neighbor's house is located at usj9 which is just opposite usj13. The owner has a german shepherd and almost every day it barks incessantly from 5pm to 9pm, it begins to bark as soon as the owner comes back from work.

This is not just an ordinary nuisance barking like your dog next door. It barks so loud that its noise can be heard from 3 usj areas. How can the quality of life not deteriorate, all of us need a peaceful rest in the evening but getting bothered by such incessant barking? I have talked to the owner nicely and even suggested him to use a dog muzzle but until now nothing has changed. Ignorant owner loves his dog more than respecting other neighbors. At last i made a complaint to MPSJ and all they did was just issued a warning letter to ask the owner to get a dog license. Now the owner got the license and his dog continues its barking routine like ever before.

What should we do now? Do we have to put up with this every day? Should i make a police report? To whom should i resort to? Please help, thanks.

What are you doing about it?

Have you spoken to that neighbour about his barking dog?

Why not say, "I am worry about you barking dog. Is your dog sick?"

If you dare not approach him, complaint to the Authorities.

I forgot to mention, you introduce yourself nicely & try to be friendly & caring.

Say what you have to say as suggested & see his reaction.

If he is LSLY, you know what to do next.

No need to approach the dog owner.. and I doubt presa1200 has solid ground to complain.

    - The dog owner has applied a licence for his dog and the dog is kept inside the house.

    - I watched the video posted. The " barking dog" is from a house far across the road. The neighbours around/adjacent the house should lodge a complaint.

    - The road is a busy 4 lanes road, plus the inner road of both usj9 and usj13, it is quite a distance between the "barking dog" and the house of presa1200.

    Also, this is usj9..

Hi, like i said i have talked to him nicely. I did ask whether his dog was sick because it seemed to bark everyday. He replied his dog never get sick and he was very proud about that. Weird thing is the owner is an Indian but his house renovated like traditional Malay style. If you pass by then you will see, it's a corner lot.

Hi, did you tell him the barking upset the neighbours especially you?

Maybe tell him to send his dog to school.

Yes there is a main road in between usj13 and usj9 but the dog barks so loud that it can echo through my area, especially when the road is quiet. I don't know about those surrounding neighbors but i guess they won't get any better than me. The neighbor next to the dog owner has recently moved away though i can not make any assumption simply based on that.

After i complained to MPSJ, they forwarded a warning letter to me that contains 3 articles the owner failed to comply: 1)owner does not have a license, 2)owner does not display a license and 3)owner has caused disturbance to neighbors. What i don't understand is that if the dog continues to make noise then how could MPSJ simply issue a license to the owner without getting permission from the neighbors?

Someone told me to gather opinions from the surrounding neighbors and make a police report. I don't know if that's the best way.

The bottom line is - You can't choose your neighbors !!

For example, a nice house without fence as shown below is a fantastic idea ONLY you don't have an assxxx neighbor !! http://ecoardence.my/the-collections/aeres

I went to the show unit, impressed by almost everything of the property's concept EXCEPT there is no fencing between houses be it semi-D or bungalow !!

Imagine you have a hellish neighbor who like to smoke keretek or cigar while you are relaxing at your garden !! or the neighbors have freaking cats that like to poo and pee in your compound !!!

Yes. He asked me where did i stay then i told him i'm from usj13. He didn't bother much when i told him his dog barks very loud.

The problem is not about his dog alone. When it barks incessantly other dogs from my area also bark like hell.

I am not sure about landed property, I think the control and enforcement of rules (if any) are entirely at the mercy of the town council.

High-rise residential property is governed by the Strata Title Act in which there is a COB (commissioner of building) who fully responsible to enforce the rules of the Strata Title Act. I have personally reported a nasty neighbor to the COB via the condo's management office on the issue of pets.

You may have to find alternative property to live if you really can't tolerate the dog or other nuisances associated with landed property... and hopefully, the procedures to deal with such hellish neighbor is more straight-forward.

Maybe these dogs can see devils or evil spirits walking around unseen by human.

When you see him again, tell him to walk his dog on a daily basis. That should help too.

How come, the barking sound is the same though out the duration. Surely the dog should be tired after 1/2 hr...and the sound should be different.

Yes maybe that's the best way. I'm thinking of moving out too. Or maybe go lepak somewhere after the dog has done its barking. Thanks
