Among them (volvo, bmw, benz, lexus). I rated their customer service level in this descending order..

    volvo
    lexus
    bmw
    benz

Nowadays, there is such thing called poor man benz or poor man bmw if you are looking at the entry model of less than 300k !! x#!@!!ff^*

    That's a very poor generalisation.

Some poorly dressed uncles actually have no money. And some kids are actually scions of rich families having all the money for branded clothes and expensive cars.

Talking about proton... I had an interesting experience with them...

I grew up in a family that didn't have a car. My Dad's 1st car is a car I bought for him.

At that time, the deposit for proton was RM3000. I placed the deposit and completed the documents. It was stated clearly that the car will be delivered by Dec of that year.

I was just started my job and not around here, couldn't follow-up at all. When I came back for a short break before Christmas, the fxxing car hasn't delivered yet. I went to the showroom, the sales asshole gave me grandmother stories and threatened me that my deposit will be forfeited if I cancelled the purchase!!

I was 23 years old then, I believe I looked even younger than 23 and therefore is a nice target for those seasoned sales staff. I decided not to give-in.

I hired a taxi (as we donít have car) from Malacca to proton HQ in Shah Alam to report the case. I was told by them that there were two units delivered to Malacca on Dec and I should have my car !! It is obvious that someone had taken the delivery of my car for an obvious reason !!

I cancelled the purchase at proton HQ and requested my deposit to mail to me by registered mail. I bought a new Nissan Sunny in cash before I left for work.

Actually, I pity people like the sales man. Already 40+ in age and yet have to do hanky panky things (under table money) to earn a bit more income. He will never know a young man 20 years younger than him already can earn his yearly income within 2-3 months.

They refunded the deposit and mailed the cheque within a week.

After many years later, when I recalled this incident, I think it is "logical" for the sales man to shortchange my order because :

    - I was young
    - I wasn't around to follow-up
    - I didn't apply loan and hence no commission from finance company to him
    - the "under table" money was good.

p/s : For those who are familiar with Malacca, this proton sales office was located next to Ramada Hotel. The sales office and other shoplots there were demolished for the construction of a private hospital called Southern Hospital. I don't know what is the hospital name now.

    It's a Honda.. right ?

If you plan to do your scheduled maintenance at their Usj1 center, you may need to get ready how to deal with them.

My banker told me the service there suck !! .. Although this is just her individual experience with them.. it may give an indication of their service level.

I go there too but so far so good. My car is coming to four years old.

Mon to Fri, after 2.00 pm you can walk in to have your car serviced. That is what I do. No booking is required.

They have just revamped the reception area. Much more spacious and inviting.

Maybe I am choosy, the "ONG" number needs to pre book or tender. Those hot ones with VV habis, but those ONG numbers for VV costs RM 4-5 figure. Car numbers bearing WILAYAH are hot but Selangor ones moves slowly. Although my requested numbers is not those hot ones, also difficult to get. All these hot numbers were simpan by runners ( another lucrative occupation ).
