You mean the subsequent 100Ks don't earn anything? Only the first 100K?
You should ask them for a loan that don't need to be repaid, for like RM 250 million
I would have done this oredi, not just free loan but will ask for donation also. But unfortunately, I did not join the right camp, and also studied the wrong thing and chose the wrong profession. So , free loan or donation won't happen to people like me...
I actually seldom go to this angmoh bank, but I do like their car park and toilet. When I am looking for a parking place at this mad place or I need to pee due to an aging bladder, I will go there...
No kidding, that's why I still keep their car stickle on my windscreen....![]()
The problem with all these banks is the competency of staff..
Just like someone from this forum posted before, the banks hired those young graduates (mostly syt), give them a fancy title with some basic training and then they will start their job to "advise" clients where to invest their money !! Some of these (maybe most of these) young fellas are still renting a room, likely from nearby Goodyear court or other apartment nearby..
Of course, they are exceptions who are good in product knowledge and have the maturity and sharpness when digesting numbers BUT they won't last long in this so-called middle class neighborhood. They will go to other more affluent areas and KL where they are required for the high end service of PPC...
The key is not to treat any of them as specialists or advisers. They are just tellers at their current experience. Don’t blame them, blame the management of the firms/banks. Hold the management responsible.
Banks everywhere in Malaysia are so profitable and yet they want to make more. Greed.
I can’t treat them as teller as their fancy designation don’t suggest they are teller and neither their jog scope is teller. Of course, I won’t think they are specialist either. Just wish they can be better than layman like me to answer queries/questions that I don’t have answer at that moment.
I won’t blame the bank because it is the human that run the bank. Of course, we should blame the senior management who decide to hire bunch of inexperience and incompetent freshies to be the front line interface with clients but I will blame the freshies also because of their attitude to “close deal fast by hard-selling” and not taking the initiative to equip themselves with the necessary knowledge while on the job…
Bear in mind, the commission for this job is quite fat. For the example that I highlighted earlier, they are paid 3% of the minimum initial sum, and subsequent 2% for initial sum above 100k. In other worlds, if they can close one deal with minimum initial sum of 100k, the “teller” is paid RM3000. If they close a deal with initial sum of 300k, the reward is RM7000. The total annual sales generated from various investment products will entitle them for an incentive trip overseas. I know an experienced staff from a chinaman bank who travelled every year to nice places like Greece, France, Maldives, Switzerland, etc as part of her reward incentive. She is good in her job even though her academic background has absolutely nothing to do with finance and economics. On the other hand, the blurred syt from this angmoh bank can’t even understand the critical element of this product. This savings cum investment product may attract my interest if the 6% and 12% are not flat rate, thus the annualized rate will be attractive, on top of the potential income from the non-guaranteed return.
I am happy to see young people earning higher income and have good perks but it should be two ways. Malaysia is an easy place to earn a living relative to other competitive overseas environment.
Enjoyed the lavish saturday brunch. Saw a number of SYT from that little red dot this morn in Ritz Carlton...they brought in a non financial, so called motivation speaker-cum-trainer-cum-joker-cum-actress-cum-whatever to lightly talk glib about Estate & Legacy planning. Ok lah,They even paid for the outrageous parking fee!
Anyway, my conclusion? she got the silver tongue to entertain...

She is correct, lots of things can be kaodimmed, if you know the right people
" The ringgit is expected to strengthen between RM3.20 and RM2.50 against the US dollar over the next two to five years, supported by trade surplus and government efforts to ensure steady economic growth. "

It's a calculated crystal ball guessing by someone based on current data and future trend lah. So, remain status quo and just follow your heart lah...
But if it really happens in next few years AND you have some big expenses in USD or even GBP at that time, it would be a big bonus.. As I said earlier, the timing is what I interested more.
From 4.0 now to 3.2 or even 2.5 is BIG savings, around 20-35% !! Let's keep fingers crossed....![]()
