I clicked on the link and surprisingly into a CHAT

And I had a Chat with one lady.

Normally I can renew with ease but this time, I have to fill up a form. She said it's long & she could do it for me remotely by clicking a link.

She asked how many computers I have......THIS GOT ME THINKING, SHE SHOULD KNOW IN MY RECORDS

I asked why it is different from previous years....NO ANSWER.

I became suspicious & told her I do not trust the CHAT.

    I hanged up.

Later on I double checked my expiry date with Norton & it is not until 3/4 quarter of 2017.

So be careful if you get an email from

Maybe she was lonely and was trying to chat you up, starting off with small talk about PCs? Once you were suitably warmed up, perhaps she would get more personal? Kakakakaka Of course, that could have been my sense of imagination going wild!

Seriously, thanks for the heads up

I think my emails landed somewhere a few months back as reported.

Lucky, there is no secret inside.

This girl who chatted with me was trying to find out more details by remote control.

That's why I DO NOT have anything done online, from flight tickets purchase to utilities bills payment. Don't even think of phone/online banking and tax statement..

and I would like to keep it this way...

Quite a while back, Yahoo emails were hacked/compromised in Australia including Gumtree.

Simple to check if you are getting connected to a scam.
Just put your cursor arrow over the link and read the link address at the bottom of your screen.

for example, you were supposed to deal with Norton but the address link is anything BUT Norton

This is the simplest check for scam ... do not click if it does not carry the official website domain name
