Unifi & fax

I need some clarification from folks having Unifi at home.

Do you connect the fax machine directly to the Unifi BTU's phone port or do you need to go through an Analogue Telephone Adapter (ATA) first?

Got... some private hospitals require original copy of guarantee letter from employee upon registration. In case of emergency, employee can request their company HR to fax a copy.
