    It's hard Brexit, officially

Theresa May just confirmed that Britain will be leaving the EU single market as part of its withdrawal from the European Union. She said she will terminate Britain’s membership of the free-trade area in order to have full control over immigration from the EU.

I welcome hard brexit, the harder the better..

Trump and Theresa (and other Brits like Boris Johnson) have vast different views on other aspects, for example on the Plastenian settlements and Israel affairs.

I doubt they can have an alliance.

On US front, Trump wants BMW to scrap the idea of building new plant in Mexico. He wants auto manufacturers relocate plant to US and/or build new plant in US soil.

On UK front, BMW has threatened to relocate their biggest plant in UK to other part of the world if UK is not in the single market that give them the logistics and tariff advantage.

So, it seems like on a small trade issue like car plant, Trump may have to compete with UK. I still can't see how they can form an alliance...

HAHAHAHAH! Cor blimey! I luv how the Brit (esp the press) interpreted May's speech and HOW the europeans esp the Frenchie & German interpreted it...

hark! Here in lies, the beauty of 'ambiguity speak' shines thru, yet again...or in arithmatics parlance where 1+1=2 or 3, maybe even 4.

p/s By George! duh Brit counting on yanky politics truly = trade? Hardly my dear Watson. If it was true, then Walmart won't be stocking its 200,000-500,000 Made in china SKU. No Yanky esp walmart shoppers will be wanting to buy expensive british made tshirts, toys, mobile phone covers, XMas deco what whatever u want under the sun 'Made in China good is GREAT'ly cheap stuff.

Theresa May has signed the letter that will formally begin the UK's departure from the European Union. Giving official notice under Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, it will be delivered to European Council president Donald Tusk today..
