Thanks to Honda Malaysia there is going to be a revival of the affordable Hybrids segment after its demise due to the discontinuation of the duty-free incentive in end 2013 for such cars. The relaunch cars come with new technology too.

The previous tax break ended in Dec 2013 is for imported Hybrids but limited to engine capacity of 2000 cc.
This time the tax break is for EEV (Energy Efficient Vehicles) or Hybrids (pure Hybrids or Plug-ins) which must be locally assembled with no limit on engine capacity. But from 2014 till now this segment sold here is limited to high-end models only. So, with Honda's latest initiative the affordable Hybrid is once again available.
