I'm quite sure by now most of you will have heard about the next Full Moon being the `Super Full Moon'. It's an event no one should miss as it's going to be the biggest Full Moon most of you will ever get the chance to see in your lifetime. The previous occasion the Full Moon was this big was way back in 1948 - before I was born , and the next biggie will be in 2034, not such how many of you will still be around it for that .

Of course, you can just watch it with your bare naked eyes, or photograph it, or whatever.

I decided to do some photography preparations just in case anyone's interested and too lazy to do your own maths.

I used my home location in USJ11 for software simulation, so these are the highlights if you live nearby (should be okay for most of Subang Jaya/USJ):

At Perigee: distance from USJ11 will be 355,808 km on November 14th. 7:22-7:23 pm (1122-1123 GMT/UTC) - time information provide by NASA
At Full Moon: distance from USJ11 will be 352,309 km on November 14th. 9:52 pm (1352 GMT/GMT) - time information provided by NASA
At maximum visible size: distance from USJ11 will be 350,316 km on November 15th, 1:06:48 - 1:08:29 am .

Recommendation on the longest lenses to use for taking photographs:
During Perigee on November 14th & 15th
Moon Angular size = 34 arc-minutes (0.56666 degrees)
Full Frame Sensor: 2,400mm Focal Length.
Cropped Sensor (APS-C): 1,480mm Focal Length.

For comparison, during Apogee on November 27th
Moon Angular size = 29 arc-minutes (0.48333 degrees)
Full Frame Sensor: 2,780mm Focal Length.
Cropped Sensor (APS-C): 1,720mm Focal Length.

I recommend you choose lenses about 5-10% shorter than the stated focal lengths to make sure you get the whole Moon in view. Otherwise, parts of the Moon may keep drifting out of view unless you are using a mount which tracks the Moon.

Please shoot at 7.22pm, 9.52pm and 1.07 am if possible. Just to see if you can record the slight changes in the size of the Moon within those 6 hours!
