I get to know that people in the Hamper business are using this Uber to get delivery assistance. They will use the apps to recruit their first recruit. If the driver is interested to earn extra income, the Hamper guy will then deal directly with the driver thus bypassing Uber. By doing so, the driver now gets to pocket 100% of the face.

The Uber app will be used to determine how much the driver will get. With this alternative use of this apps the Hamper people have solved their problem of delivery. In fact they can do simultaneous delivery. While on the way to deliver the Hamper, the driver can still pick up anyone else who requested for the Uber service.
As stated earlier, two of my Uber riders got fare bypass as they insisted to get me to drive them to KLIA. If they used the app, they might get other drivers. So they called me to pick up personally. And today, I just got a pickup for a Japanese executive of a well known Nippon electronic firm. He might not be back as he would be assigned to India but would recommended me to send his staff to get my driving service directly. After the ride, sumore give me a tip. Noiw that is two tips in 1 single ride.

My wifey also uses my apps......she gets me driving i.e stamping documents for her rental business and documentation for Sales and purchase agreements to lawyer office and also pick up stock and supplies for her Shinju pearls shop at Sunway Pyramid. Sumore, send her kiddies to school too. And she did not even pay me for driving up and down service.

    Concised from The Star today

In the 2am incident, a car heading towards Sungai Buloh had stopped along the highway with a punctured tyre.

A lorry driver, trying to avoid the car, crashed his vehicle into the road divider and collided with an oncoming vehicle, a Toyota Innova, on the other side of the highway.

District OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din said the four men died on the spot while an unidentified woman, believed to be another passenger, was rushed to Sungai Buloh Hospital with serious injuries.

At the mortuary in Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), a cousin of the brothers, who only wished to be known as Chong, said they had been sharing a ride in what was believed to be an Uber vehicle.
This Uber driver was in the wrong place wrong time. May his soul rest in peace.

If there is no Emergency Lane in this so-called highway, where do you expect a motorist who has a puntured tyre to replace the tyre. Of course, this motorist need to place adequate signs to warn other traffic but then who carry such signs. I do not think the lorry driver pay much attention or else he could have change lane.

Nothing wrong about Uber company, it can happen to anybody

Because I have not seen highway without emergency lane in Malaysia.

I have read this piece of news earlier from Chinese papers but I don't want to post because some of our forumers are driving Uber.

Also, I have travelled on this road countless times. It is at NKVE highway before the exit into Damansara Toll.

I will share with you with some photos later..

OK, there is Emergency Lane and I am assuming that car was parked inside the Emergency Lane.

Why the lorry had to avoid the car that you think was parked in the Emergency Lane?

And why the lorry had to jump the divider into the opposite on-coming traffic?

Is the car actually in the Emergency Lane?

Your earlier post gave an impression that you blame the absence of emergency lane as the root cause of this tragic accident.. !!

Since you realize there is emergency lane, I stop here.

A 10 tonne truck crashed the highway's divider and collided with a vehicle from opposite direction while trying to avoid a stalled car with a punctured tyre on the road.
