For me, if some movie I'm interested to watch, which I HAVE done in the past..numerous episodes uploaded, I watched them all Episode 1-50. Then I had a friend buy the original soundtrack CD from Guangzhou. Perhaps only available there and fortunately 1 miserable copy left. Friend who got it for me also wanted it but no more stock. I don't feel guilty watching on Youtube. I feel its the onus of the copyright owners to be on the alert on copyright enforcement and approach Youtube to remove it. This is not an uncommon event as its still in practice and I've come across many clips infringing copyright and removed from public broadcast.
As for music files..this is another controversy. I know and heard of many people who sell of their cd collection after ripping them to hard drive and stream them whenever they like. AFAIK, this can be perceived as wrong as you don't own any legitimate original hard copy and even sold it off as part of "redundant" personal stuff for some ROI.
Anyway, I have bought numerous DVD titles I can't find here or never available here. Some maybe on Youtube, but then, I like owning a hard copy and some are even autographed by the artist (concert mainly)...worth treasuring.

Unfortunately, in the heat of exchanges, Naka took offense at Kuma's comment

Calling members 'gangs', is that acceptable in this Forum?...
Firstly, I do not think Kuma's comment was meant to slander anyone nor was the word "gang" implied the underworld. When i first read it, my perception was that Kuma was using it in a metaphorical context. Kuma was actually insinuating that all parties were acting like school kids (note: "school gang"). I came from a well known "gangster school" in the Pudu zone of KL because of some past history of former students but none of my classmates had any involvement with that stigma.

Having taken the time to read (many times) the comments made by Kuma, I conclude that Naka misunderstood them.

Regarding "giving chance" to edit a post, this comment sounds innocent enough to me (I did not see what were the original words edited by Naka and so if the words could be considered malicious, then it was good Kuma gave Naka time to edit as only the person who wrote can edit his own post). Kuma was obviously avoiding any arguments by waiting for Naka to remove any words deemed in violation of Forum rules.

I do thank the restraint exercised by Naka, otherwise any arguments developing further would be a case for accomodation at the banana plantation

The above comment started it all
For the record, Speeg edited an earlier comment that was made and what you see is the above
In the comment before it was edited, Speeg made an allegation which the rest of you are now unable to read, unless you did see it before it got edited.

His ban was based on that pre-edit comment... an oversight on my part because it now does not exist.
Nonetheless, the ensuing tiff with Kuma resulted in me concluding that Speeg was trolling.

Having identified the error, and to be fair to Speeg, I will now revoke the ban.

Please understand that I am standing on my principle of moderating this forum.... the bananas and bans are executed to the misdemeanor and not the person behind the avatar.
So, basically what our Mod is telling us is that.....

What To Do If You Post Malicious Content:
It's perfectly OK to post any malicious content....and then expunge it [for some, 'edit it' may be easier to understand ].... before the 45mins edit time frame is up.....and that its all well and good and you have not broken any rules "because it now does not exist."

It does not matter if others had read it during those 45 mins....it does not matter if that person who those scandalous words were targeted at [not my words] was offended by them.....No, it does not even matter if a record of 'those expunged words' are still available as archived on the Forum server

As long as you have removed "the evidence" before the 45 min times up, all's fine....no Ban, No Plantation visit.......besides, its just a misdemeanor

Bear In Mind For Future Use:
So folks bear this in mind for the future.....in fact I know off someone here who has a running archival database of everything we have written [plus and analysis of motive ].....who will save this post....will need it for the next plantation visit

Well....those are the rules, so it seems....in that case...

Haiz ... please do not make those "never" statements. One thing I have learned as I grow older is that the more such statements we make, the more likely we will be forced to retract later hahaha .... KARMA !!! I have "kena" so many times that now I learn "never to say never"

So chill ... take a break , have a Kitkat if you need ... the new green tea ones from Japan are pretty good !
Everyday is a good day for GOOD FOOD and a GOOD LAUGH

Thanks for the offer. Best stuff in Japan is the sushi/sashimi, that one cannot "ta pau" .... so it is OK !!

Yes, the raw seafood is the attraction.

I haven't decided whether I should try the raw snow crabs but I have prepared antibiotics for food poisoning, just in case I wanna explore. ..

I have tried the raw snow crab sashimi long time ago ... slimy ... and FUGU , but with fugu , you better be careful. Fugu tastes like white dory when cooked. No big deal except the "danger thrill" hahaha ... at least I tried it once and survived to tell the story

The one thing I have not tried is "live octopus" from Korea .... thinking about that one ...

Saw this guy on Discovery Channel once, trying to put the octopus in his mouth. Poor octopus was struggling and trying to get its tentacles out of the man's mouth. Left a lasting impression, yes it did.

    Thanks for the heads-up.

Then the next option is the stone-grilled crabs which is good to accompany with lots of bčeeeeeer.

I have tried stone-grilled crabs in Otaru before. Maybe to play safe for me and family, try this again instead of raw..
