Free Maggi soup bowl only on 24th & 25th Sep and only at Giant

Happened to be here at Giant and found this great offer. I am a great Maggi noodle eater.

There is a good offer from Maggi for today and tomorrow only and only available from Giant. It is also valid when you buy Maggi Kari or Chicken. You only need to buy 3 packets of any combination and summore they are promoted at a discounted price of only RM 10.99 for 3 saving you RM1.52. On top of that you get a free and most appropriate gift - the unique Maggi soup bowl measuring 17cm width and capacity is 1 litre. You can have any colour you want so long as it is yellow. Limited to one per customer while stock last. I don't have to teach you how you can get more than one. I got half a dozen as I have 6 in my family.

According to a report in the Star Biz, Malaysians consume 3.6 million packets of instant noodles a day, of which 1.4 million packets are that of the Maggi brand.

That translates to 511 million packets per year and Nestle supplies nearly half of the whole of Malaysia’s demand of 1.34 billion packets of instant noodles last year.

The sales here are so good as many of our Pendatang Asing Tanpa Izin or PATI members ate these instant noodles as their meals. According to statistics, many should have died of cancer if not gone botak as many of you think that is the side effect of eating too much maggi.

According to the India news where there are 1,26 billion populations, Maggi Mee was withdrawn and banned in India where probably trillion of packets being consumed. for fast and cheep cooked meals.

Maggi mee is not recommended by health professional bodies from American Heart Association. American Cancer Society and American Stroke Association as dietary intake just like ciggies where trillions of sticks being sold. Cancer to Cardiovascular diseases associated with the consumption were not " proven" and acceptable until recently where the health warning is displayed on each packets sold. Consumption at your own risks but it is not prohibited product.

Glad I'm not eager and avoid eating any of these kind of instant noodles. I think everyone is somewhat aware that its not the ideal meal but merely some snack and something "possibly filling", instant and on the cheap. ON THE CHEAP!..maybe rank among the top few most affordable meal nevertheless. Most convenient shops have plentiful stock available for everyone. Its still a best seller that its popularized in your mamak shop as Maggi mee goreng and those sorts. In those form ITS NOT CHEAP meal and your roti canai or capati would be cheaper. I still recall there exist these packet noodles in the early 70's for about 20 cents.

I'm not sure about other local packed dried mee/noodles (some look like the Maggi mee) WITHOUT the soup powder mix. They're for you to prepare your own style in your kitchen. Any comments on those?

One of the problem with the instant noodles or Ramen is the wax used to avoid it sticking where you have to stir while cooking.

Dun get me wrong, I do cook MAGGI Mee for my family as quickie Mamak Mee. .However I cook it first to strip the wax, rinse and cook again. therefore not instant .....and minus the magic powdered Ajinomotto. But with healthy tofu, beansprout and cabbage with tasty shrimps , sambal and telur.

Otherwise, my choices are still kiuh teow and meehoon as fried choices

Natural Happiness is home made without Mistress Maggie May and MSG - naturally...............

Me and my family don't eat instant mee. So, I don't really know about the perceived health hazards of instant noddles.

I have more concerns of the free gift. Tootpaste, morning cereals, Scotts Emulsion, Brands chicken essence, etc, often give similar items as free gift. I will return this sort of color-coated bowl/plate/mug to the counter casheir as I'm positive that low quality color-coated dinnerware contain toxins especially when filled with hot boiling food.

Free gift with logo gets free advertizing at home 24/7 to remind you to take me constantly in subtle subconscious marketing.

One of the best marketing gimmicks to the doctors is to give free pens or pads where the doctors are induced to write the preference drug of choice to the patients.

And the millions they spend on the advertising board on the court or field where flashes of brand names is to ensure you Milo or Tiger beer is good for you.

Ever imagine why ciggies advertised Dunhill on luxury taste of belts to cufflinks with millions of budget in TV those days back? Or Marlboro in countryside with manhood style to Salem cool highland feeling ?

Most of all, the freebies from MCD to KFC is to induce kiddies to take them for fries or chicks.

If I happen to receive free gifts like plastic containers or those sort, I will not store food inside. I will use them for storing my DIY spares or bits and pieces which I keep for future use. These free containers do have some use for me.
Many I have lasted for years and years...haven't thrown any out yet.

Sharing a useful advice when consuming instant noddle. Cook only the noddle alone till soft then rinse it with clean water to remove the wax on the noddle. Only then boil the noddle together with other sauses provided.
