Marantz CD63 SE CD player remote control

I need some help from anyone with a vintage Marantz CD63 , CD63 SE or CD 63 KI player to confirm my CD 63 SE remote control condition. It has been working before and for a couple of years of not using it because the CD player laser pickup failed.

Manage to purchase a spare laser from Ebay and the player is working perfectly after the change ... DIY style. Manage to trace the IR infrared remote signal all the way to the CD63 se player's decoding ic chips using an oscilloscope. Signal looks intact to me but without a reference , it is not possible to confirm if it is valid signal.

The problem now is that whether the remote control frequency has drifted too much rendering it unrecognizable by the CD player or there is some failure in the player mainboard components.

Anyone in SU or USJ can help or is there any shop around that I can check it out ?

All new Marantz CD Player use the same Philips RC code and its not changed. I have a newer Marantz CD6003, can try out the remote.
Mostly the hand held remote kaput..

The remote IR is sending out the signal but whether it is of the right frequency or not that need to confirm.
Now not sure if it is the main unit or the remote controller
CD6003 may be having the same code at least for the basic operation that is general for Marantz. Not surprising though as the Sony VHS recorder remote control of almost 40 years still usable on the current Sony 4K TV for channel and volume and on off controls.

Remotes can go kaput for a variety of reasons from internal defect to batteries going leaky.

Manage to download the Marantz CD63 service manual . Wonders of Google ..
Will come in extremely handy when tracing the signal through. Will check the main unit out first and see where this IR signal from the remote control will lead me to .

As for leaky batteries....I will avoid alkaline batteries altogether for these low current devices . They have a higher than normal chance of electrolyte leak when the batteries are at the tail end. Normal carbon zinc batteries is better and so far no problem of leak even after years in the remote.

I entirely forgot about this:
Check the rear of the player, there should be a switch for the remote as External or Internal. Ensure that the switch point to the Internal option, if not, the remote controller will not work.
Could be accidentally flipped to External.

Hehe.... Done that . With the schematic circuit diagram in hand now , it is very much easier to trace the IR signal path , the function of those IC that it connect to and see what comes out of it .
A working reference remote control is still needed as all the signal waveform is meaningless without knowing how a good signal waveform looks like.
