    Touch n Go service

Forgot to mention that there is a Touch&Go top up counter at the KLCC station. No service charge. Don't make the mistake of topping up at a convenience stall nearby for they do charge a service fee

If you link your TnG card with your credit card, it will auto top up. You determine by how much. It is so convenient. When you do it over the counter, you need to pay cash.

When you drive into a shopping complex, you must have a minimum cash balance if you intend to pay using your TnG. Though you have to pay additional 10%, I find it very convenient. I have a phobia that whenever I pay cash, I couldn't find my car and I have only 15 minutes to exit. If there is congestion you may not have time to get out.

I've been using the MyRapid Card which I find more convenient topping up at any station Rapid Kiosk. These Rapid kiosk do NOT or cannot be used to top up Touch n Go cards. In this case, Myrapid card is the preferred card for bus and rail.
Its currently cheaper fare on LRT than cash token. Easy to check difference on that android app I suggested not too long ago. Speaking of the app, I did find some fare discrepancies or inaccuracy, example from Taipan to Bukit Bintang (Kelana LRT, changover to KL Monorail. Its about RM1.80 difference more. Why? Check in/out at both stations. Its not check in at start and check out at destination which would easily compute out the exact fare. I'm not sure about other destinations with changeover, could be inaccurate fares on app.

MyRapid or TnG card fare is the same. The difference could be the easy top up at any MYRapid kiosk at any station. You can't do this with TnG card.
I do carry each card in my wallet. I would lend the TnG card to friend or whoever that may accompany me on some trip. Then TnG come in handy for other purpose, like carrying a spare, in case Rapid card kaput for no reason.
I use another PlusMiles for Smart Card gadget. That card reside in the gadget permanently, altogether I've 3 cards. One thing good with that smart card gadget, can always check the amount on any TnG card. It will not read the MyRapid card...different system.

Ok, thanks. Then the T&G card should suffice. I hardly take the LRT but when I do, I'll grab my T&G card. Thanks!

Speaking of topping up, someone told me that some Petronas gas stations offer the service without extra charge for the T&G card? True?

PC, Please check if that is true. Can you tell me if you have your TnG topup linked to the regular Master or Visa card today?

It used to be true many years ago but TnG changed that a long time ago and at that time only a special credit card issued by MayBank could be used for linking to auto topup.... Have they changed that recently?

For those whose transport expenses paid by their employer and those who are self-employed, manual top-up with a receipt (tax invoice) is the only way to declare toll charges as expenses in the tax return form. Without an original receipt, IRD will not accept any expenses to be declared as expenses. This requirement is even more stringent now after the introduction of GST. Itemized expenses shown in credit card statement is not a receipt.

Similar requirement applies to tele-communication charges also. I once asked Maxis to send the bill to my email address but my company's finance told me the printout of the bill requires an official chop of "certified true copy" from Maxis !! Who the F wants to do this every month, so back to square one, Maxis send the original bill to company's mailing address...

I used to be able to do T & G top up using credit card without incurring any extra charges at the Pusat Khidmat Pelanggan beside the NKVE Plaza Tol Subang. Don't know whether this is still true as I hardly take that route nowadays.

When TnG was first introduced, it allowed auto top up linked to credit cards. Eventually they discontinued this facility which I believe they were unabled to cope and choosing the easy way out, they narrowed down to a selected few which are listed in their website today.

My wife is using the Zing card issued by Hong Leong Bank. This specially issued credit card have the Zing card logo. Please note that the bank charges RM2 each time it is reloaded.

Whenever your prepaid credit dips below a certain level, your Zing Card will automatically be reloaded from the credit card of your choice – and with 7 different banks to choose from.

    CIMB Zing Card
CIMB Touch 'n Go Visa Gold
CIMB Touch 'n Go Visa Platinum
    Maybankard Touch 'n Go Zing
    Hong Leong Bank Berhad (Debit)
    Hong Leong Bank Berhad (Credit)
    Bank Simpanan Nasional Berhad
Affin Bank Touch 'n Go MasterCard Gold
Affin Bank Touch 'n Go MasterCard Classic
Affin Bank Touch 'n Go MasterCard Debit
    AEON Credit Malaysia Berhad

    Warning
Never attempt to do a manual reload whether at bank SST (Self Service Terminal) which is a better name for ATM or with third party agents as it will screw up your Zing card in built program
